If that sounds interesting to you, you’re going to love mining! All you do is dig and dig for ores. Iron ore is really easy to dig up, but there are other, rare ores that are impossible to extract unless you are very knowledgeable at removing it from the earth very delicately. The more skilled at mining you get, the more varieties of these rare ores you will receive.
All you need to get started is a pickaxe and a lot of time. Most beginning miners get started at Mount Kendall just outside Minoc. Since Minoc’s economy depends heavily on ores, this mine is the only one in all of Britannia that is actively guarded. Other mines may be a bit more private, but you must mine at your own risk since murderers enjoy hunting squishy miners.
Mining also allows you to smelt ores into ingots to lower the weight and provide blacksmiths with workable metals. Some believe that you can get better at mining by simply smelting ores, but this is not true. The only way to become a master is to dig dig dig dig dig dig dig and then dig some more.
