Hey guys, it's finally time to let everyone know that the spirit of Imagine Nation is very much alive and well and we have a brand new shard to share with you all! We launch on Saturday 12/13/14 and couldn't be more excited!

We have been developing Cataclysm UO quietly for many, many years and we feel the quality will speak for itself. We are a Sphere 51a replica shard on RunUO, with our own independent code and world that is highly inspired by Imagine Nation. The game play reflects the best of Sphere in the style of IN1. We fused the Sphere style with a bit of The Second Age to bring Sphere 51a to the level we feel that it would have been at had it been as mature as RunUO is today.

Here is just a bit of what you can expect form Cataclysm UO!

- 100% Sphere 51a IN1 style gameplay on the RunUO engine.
- Our own unique world with many throwbacks to the original IN.
- Unique code base which isn't based on IN-X or built on top of IN-X.
- Second Age era correct menus, gumps, and naming conventions.
- A unique nostalgic automated GM Rewards system for maxing out your skills.
- Old school crafting, and taming.
- 26 Sphere influenced armors to craft with more to find in the world.
- Much attention to detail to make your experience feel like it's 2001 all over again!

We know that this is a sudden announcement, but we wanted to make sure we were completely ready with a quality product worthy of this community before inviting you all to our website.

I would humbly like to invite all of the IN community to check us out, we are huge fans of Imagine Nation and this reflects in the design and feel of our shard. There is a lot more information about the shard on our website.

Special thanks goes to Coldrake, Taran, Eru, Maka, and the Imagine Nation community for keeping the spirit of IN alive over the years. We are more than happy, proud, and gracious to pick up the torch that is the spirit of IN and create something for all of us to enjoy. We hope to see some of you this weekend in a new world!

With much love for Imagine Nation,

Thank you all very much,

Tantrik

Well that's a surprise: http://www.runuo.com/

Quote:Our Journey Has Ended

THE RUNUO WEBSITE WILL STAY ONLINE IN IT'S CURRENT CAPACITY INDEFINITELY.

TO BE CLEAR - UOGAMERS IS STAYING ONLINE AND WILL NOT BE GOING DOWN!

At least older versions are still available, I suppose this just means it won't be keeping up with the later releases of UO unless someone else picks up the project.

Been really getting a kick out of reading the IN-X forum archives. I never was on the forums at all when I played IN-X (was on beta, and initial launch). Interesting to see what a vibrant community IN has and the interactions between players, as well as memories and screenshots of original IN and XUO. Quite a bit more flame than I would expect on some threads, but it certainly is entertaining. Didn't remember that Coldrake was on the original development team as well, very cool. Props to staff for keeping those forums up. The changelog posts are a good insight at what work was done on the server as well.

Wishing all a fantastic weekend!

Got a free Windows VPS from work. Don't know how long I'll have it, but they want me to help beta test it, so I put RunUO on there.

http://in-uo.net/patcher/IN%20Patcher.exe

I also brought back the old patcher and whatnot so it should be easy to get started. ;P Use the GoTo tools to download what you need and whatnot. I'm too sleepy to write up a full guide.

There should be event gates up all over the place and they'll take you to the arena where you can get 100 all skills and a ton of free gold, silver, imagine nickels, armor, weapons, etc.

Have fun while it lasts because this is all temporary! When the beta test for this VPS ends the server will go down.

Also, leave feedback on how the server performs and I'll pass it on.

Greetings,

Last day, i've got that nostalgic feeling of playing UO again, but looked everywhere for a good server and could only found dead projects everywhere. It's bad to see such constructive game being put apart from nowadays kids that prefer a game with justin bieber to a game that teach's you about life and deep knownledge. Smile

Beside the disfunction caused by those distractions, our planet is now shifting to new levels of spirituality, where we will gain consciousness about many constructive subjects that will mold the society of tomorrow.

Why not build a safe UO server for not just "playing" but also be part of something good for everyone, build philosophers, scientists, alchemists, new metas being shared through this game. Now there is only one thing that can attract evolution for the most greed ones, that is stable income in some sort of value. Now i know Eru have done a great job in the past by developing a software to mine bitcoins and get returns in imagine nickles. But now i would think in something rather more efficient, cloning some efficient coin and call it imagine nickles (coin), this way "donators" would become investors and anyone would always have something in return to exchange in the future.

We are building here an online market for ultima servers, could be ultima coin or wtv.
Nowadays i am very busy but will find some time to put things rolling, i have some experience on cloning coins this could be in hand.
Meanwhile i needed to see IN again, and start playing, got one node working with it everything stable, but im sharing all the deep toughts here not just to get your attention but also to get your help.
Now if you don't mind, i would use the name Imagine Nation for it, because it stands for it self, what we players have the most is imagination Smile

PM me to talk, let's share knowledge and build this thing.
Best Regards

Just a comment,

Been noticing interest in UO going up drastically. Anyone else seen the trend? JoinUO has a new website thats a lot cleaner than the old one, and a lot of the shards are overflowing, especially the newer shards. This could be many factors, one being fans of Ultima tend to always be fans, cold weather the other, perhaps Shroud of the Avatar, or better marketing. But its nice to see a lot of life left in the UO community.

Website and forums are back up now, sorry for the delay.
There are still some minor issues here and there, but overall it should be ok.

We had to use an old backup as well so the latest posts here on forums are gone.
