Hi guys,

i've installed injection and all, but when i click on launch everything seems fine until i get to "patching client".... it says error. anyone know what the problem is?

i've tried using all 3 clients (4.0.5a m.exe, 4.0.11f m.exe, and 5.0.1h m.exe.... and they all come up with the same error,

error details are as follows: failed to install hook in client reason: (87) The parameter is incorrect...

I've reinstalled uo several times and patched it and all but i keep getting the same problem, not sure its the OS im using which is Windows server 2003????

Your help would be much appreciated,

well ive noticed many are asking this all the time: how do u start injection?
so i opened my ilaunch, and went through point through point and wrote it down, just in case ppl need this guide Wink

first download injection files in downloads section, clients and main. i added them to my uo folder. now here's what do to, step by step.

1. paste ilanuch to desktop (like i did)
2. open it.... (duh)
3. client directory -> click change, go to ur uo folder and klick OK
4. Server -> Edit list, Name: IN-X, Adress: inx.xs4all.nl,2593 , click add, save, OK
5. ignition.cfg -> change, go to inj folder, click igniton.cfg, OK
6, Client -> edit list, name: anything, click choose, go to uofolder, click one of ur clients, OK, (i have 5.0.1h m), add, save
7 -> look at what clients u have next to Client:, choose the one u saved. have Use injection and Exit after launch marked, press launch

hope it works Smile

The deal is I cannot get UO to work. It's from a fresh install..it ended patching around 5.0.7 or so, which I suppose will suffice. I get a "unable to launch specified client." I have only one client, the 2d client. Razor installed fine and works, just the UO will not work. I'm not sure why exactly it won't work (and this is with all the required files unzipped and installed in). I'm going to re-download the UO again...this is about the tenth install.

Also, I open the UO folder and open the client directly to just log on and it will not advance beyond Verifying..I'm not sure if that will help anyone demystify my problem.Sad

Just thought it'd be nice to be able to smith/tinker a gold bar into gold coins. Tongue Not a lot, maybe like 100 coins per ingot, or whatever the devs think is fair. It makes sense from an RP perspective, and it'd be nice as an extra source of cash for people who are starting up. ~_O

Will my twins be able to play? They're going to be next generation's gamers (That's if they want to of course). They're only ten days old but I imagine they're going to rock.

They came seven weeks early but they're both almost five pounds. They're fighters! It will be several weeks until they get to come home, but when they do they're going to pwn even harder than they do now.

Sophie & Spencer

Edit: I know exposing them to UO would be borderline child abuse.

We should add total mana refresh pots to the list of craftables.

Just want everyone to know I have been working on the plant system. It will be finished shortly after the next server restart. For those of you that know anything about it, There will only be one way of getting seeds. And I will leave it at that for now. I will let you know when it is up and fully operational. and then I will give some hints as to obtaining a seed,

There's been a lot of talk about driving up the server population, and "refer a friend" programs usually work out pretty well for gaining new players. I don't think a lot of players come from the Top 200 sites, and I think most are from people getting their friends/family to make an account and play.

I propose that we add some sort of referral program with incentives. The incentives obviously can't be something that would make the game imbalanced, but just some fun items that would serve as a "Thank You" to people who bring in players.

Suggestions:

House Decorations: Stuff like decorative swords/shields, animal heads, etc. Maybe a house door recoloring or something like that.

Clothing Bless Deeds: Newbie a piece of clothing and make it unbreakable. For stuff like masks, boots, jewelery, etc. NO Renaming and NO recoloring so it's not stepping on current rewards.

Various Novelty Items: Use your Imagination (xtreme).

Referral Sash: If you get several people to join, you could get a r/r sash to show off your 1337 referral skills.

---------------------

Now the obvious problem is that people will just make a bunch of new accounts and say that they referred themselves if given the chance. So, some sort of technique would have to be used to stop that.

There should be some way to monitor the actual time that they play, shouldn't there? I know accounts have an age tag on them, so maybe if it checked the account's age, then applied a reward credit to the referrer after say, a month of playing, that would work. Also, the server can see which IP addresses are connecting, so if the referrer's IP and the referee's IPs consistently match, then you could assume that someone's cheating the system.

-----------------------

Bleh, that's enough elaboration I hope. I'd love to hear some opinions from staff/players. ^_^
