Unfortunately I have very little patience for gathering skills so I am forced to pursue my need for oak logs here.

I am willing to pay 12gp (negotiable) per oak log and buying them in bulk (a few thousand at least).

I would prefer to just buy them from a vendor versus setting up a time to meet since that is easier. I can pop on at any time and go get them. My play schedule is random so it's hard to set up a time. Let me know!

I know that resource gathering while away is forbidden and punished by the gump. But what about macroing the skill itself?
I mean, just getting skill gains without the resources connected to them. To most, it won't make much sense, since you need those ingots to macro black anyway, but pratically for someone who just wants mining to be done, it means sitting in front of computer hours and hours for days/weeks doing something else and answering the gump.
Gathering while afk will *surely* disrupt economy, but what about making a tool that justs raises mining skill, i don't know, like a prospector tool, with the same skill gain of normal mining.
I'm doing it, and not complaining about it. I'm just asking if it's possible, and if it's not, why.
My example is that if i'm in need of GMing blacksmith, i think just like everybody else, i can't find the utility of it before GMing mining first, but in order to accomplish that i find myself sitting for hours watching movies or doing something else while my char just digs digs digs. Can't even smoke without the risk of finding myself dead Smile
All that time "wasted" I could've spent hunting and collecting the tons of gold needed for the ingots to train smithing.
I'm asking (with a twisted english, have pity of me) the feasibility both in terms of scripts and the impact on the server of the introduction of an alternative way to raise the gathering skills without, in fact, gathering.

New vendor open in the Buy More Vendor Mall, first vendor at the top of the stairs on the second floor! His name is Alfred. For now he sells medium to high end ingots! Great Prices. Soon I will have exceptional armors being sold. Stop on down! Thank you!

Anyone know where to get white scales? What specific mobs? No, not dragons, that I've seen.
Help from a staff member with this would be helpful =p

I'd like to buy these, dragons blood, green scales, diamonds, and Glowing Ingots

You can't fizzle enemy's spells so there is virtually no way to fight a gank unless you guy lucky with some line of sight. If you can fizzle with faster spells, you can actually stand a chance. Yes I know you can drink and invis and recall, but thats no fun is it?

Duels are a lot more fun with spell inturrupt as well.

Also earlier I saw a tourny being hosted and the arena was just a small box with no line of sight. Woudnt it be more fun to have a few pieces of LOS in the arena so people can use some tactics instead of just spamming spells? Like this?

Here is something for people that don't understand.

Wish I could play here but I just lag like crazy being on the other side of the world and all Smile Shard looks awesome though. 200+ players on a Sphere shard? Cool to see so many UO players around.

I always thought about scripting something like this when I ran a forum but I have a tendency to be lazy, and thought I might bring up the idea for these forums.

I wanted to be able to make a dummy account (let's say Greeter for this example) who makes a post in a certain forum section (say "New Players") that automatically creates a thread when somebody creates a forum account. So you make an account and immediately see your name in the title of a thread posted by Greeter, which basically would welcome them to the forum and explain a little bit about the website, or in this case the shard. It could provide links to helpful guides for new players, rules for the shard and forum, remind them to vote frequently, even ask them to describe themselves a little if you want.

I ended up scrapping this idea because my host was a real nut-buster and it was a pretty large forum to begin with so I didn't want the extra clutter but I figured I'd toss the idea out here see what people think. It may even spark a little more activity on the forums making people feel welcome here. I know the shard is aimed at being non-carebear but no reason why we all can't be friendly on the boards. So I left a provo macro on overnight and had my STR checked down and INT checked up to re-order my stats a bit.

I came back and my INT was 120 like I expected but my STR was down to 50. According to the stat/skill chart at http://www.uoguide.com/Stats neither Musicianship or Provocation effects STR. So once my INT got to 120 shouldn't my STR have stopped decreasing? It's a little annoying since I have to go get my stats back up but I was wondering if this may be a bug or something?

I searched on these forums as well as on Google and haven't found a solution. I updated .NET framework to 4.0. I'm using windows 7.

The spell is disabled but mage vendors still sell the scrolls.

Edit: Not technically a bug (unless reactive armor should work) but just wanted to let ya'll know so people don't waste their money on the scrolls.
