Changelog

You can steal everything!!! Mwuahahah *locks all the bank doors nice and tight*

Of course newbied/blessed items cannot be stolen but pretty much everything else is fair game.

Including containers, tickets, deeds for craftables, etc?

Can you steal while hidden? Just how paranoid do we have to be now? hahaha

Does stealing make you grey (to be honest I don't remember this one and it's not me pushing for absolute safety in blue towns)?

I'd prefer most details to be found out by the players but heres a few answers:

A select few items aren't stealable but you will have to figure that out or maybe Taran will go all soft and tell you.

Stealing has a chance to turn you gray, fail or success, but it doesn't always make a person criminal.

Here's how stealing will work:
  • You will get revealed when stealing
  • You can steal items up to 15 stones, although at 15 stones the chance of success is very low.
  • You never have 100% chance of stealing an item
  • You must have opened the player's backpack before you can steal. After a short while you must open the backpack again to be able to keep stealing.
  • If you die shortly after you have stolen anything and you still have the stolen items in your backpack, they get returned to the owner.
  • There's always a chance you will get caught when stealing, this will turn you criminal. If you don't get caught, you won't turn criminal.
  • You cannot steal containers, items that are locked down, newbied items, equipped items or items from playervendors.
  • Both hands must be free to be able to steal.
I think that's about it. If you want more details you have to find that out yourselves.

I think this makes sense. If it worked your way smoke, I could steal something from you and if I get caught and killed, madman can loot me and take your items for doing nothing himself.

Would that be like when someone snoops my pack and I get that message saying 'you notice so and so peaking into your backpack'? Or is it more like if a player notices an item disappears from his pack he yells guards within x seconds then the player is gwacked and the items are returned?

yeah that's what what i mean it would take 2 people and it would raise suspissions so it would be harder i don't know why it would be returned to it's owner if your crim and die Sad If your able to steal anything from 15 stones you should be able to loot anything between 0-15 stones, thats how i see it

So in other words you want someone else to be able to loot the item from your dead body when you took the time to train stealing and you took the risk to steal something? Hey that's your choice but seems kinda dumb to me that someone can profit off your work.

taking items for people you don't have to charge them for it.. it's a friendly thing to do to loot something for someone, i'm not greedy i would do it for free for my friends if they had stealing

True I guess there's that side to it too to gang up on someone.
