Dress IN Style!
#25

I'm eager to implement this, but I certainly need help with these.

Probably take quite a lot of work and it'll need to be done well, even the current elven robes you can buy at casino look like crap in game once you dye them a fancy colour. I just bought one and I am so disappointed (50 nickels wasted) as the in game part looks crappy, the animation as you're walking/moving about screws up the colouring, which you don't see on the models. Plus the kimonos on the paperdoll look way too square at the bottom *sigh* trying to stay fashionable is a hard job in UO *pout*

Dracolith Wrote:I think if this is implemented since, I presume, they would be such cool pieces of clothes that you should need gm tailoring and even then not a very high chance to make or something

If it does get implemented at some point (or a variation of the idea) I like the sounds of them being craftable, would add a new use for tailoring beyond leather armour and having a high difficulty level and chance of failure would add a nice price tag to being fashionable which would also be nice for those of us who like to craft and also those who like to look good Wink

If this is implemented, I think only 'how awesome it looks' will affect on the chance and minimum skill level, but we're talking about the skill level of implemeting this into the game, which remains low for now. Of course, I think they all must be craftable, except a couple of those GM Robes Wink

You sure it's only 35? Or is that just for peace mode standing still.

You can face 8 different directions.
You can be in war or peace mode
You can be mounted or unmounted.

That's 8 x 2 x 2 = 32 for the basic animations, but that is only if you don't move or do any animations.

Fidget animations have their own art, same with each type of swing that you can do with a weapon, casting animtaions, etc. It ends up being a *lot* of files. ;P We learned that with the gargoyle wings.

Also, I'm all for adding new clothing and stuff. The only problem is that the mul files that contain the art have a set number of slots, which *can* be filled up. A silly design, I know. We could remove some crappy items that noone ever wears though like short pants or normal shoes if we run out. I'm not sure how likely that is though.

1. 8 directions
2. standing still/walking/running
3. war/peace
4. attacking
5. holding staffs and other weapons
6. mounted/unmounted

That's what UOFiddler gives to us.
That's just slightly a bit more...

And Eru, let's just remove old clothes and just pack in the new ones! Come on! Let's do this! And a few more... cause there are really not so many empty slots for everything.
