PvP Changes

I'm willing to publish the details. There are 2 reasons why I have not done with so far 1) I've been too busy so far and 2) I thought it would be good to get people's judgement based on pure experience and not on preconceived judgement from reading the algorithms.

Also, knowing the exact mechanics can suck some of the fun away from the game, I personally had good experiences learning to PvP without specific knowledge of how everything worked. But I guess that was a long time ago and people are more impatient with UO now.

If people wish me to publish the numerical details and mechanics and Taran does not object I will do that. I'm also willing to write a little guild of how the PvP is supposed to work, if it turns out it does not work in the fashion envisaged it can of course be adjusted.

Oh my god could it be? Ofc it can like I said from the beginning I didn't think the mana pot system is too accurate and the poison system is silly and it's mandatory to have here now it doesn't really change anything skill wise but favor the the skill poisoning and players with it..

I mean can we seriously all just listen to my self next time I speak about pvp and balancement, I've said everything in the last 2 pages that have been going on:

mana system vs potion judgement
poison system to harass players vs not being skillful
things not being balanced and tested enough by experienced players who know what they're talking about vs people who just want change
etc etc etc

I don't feel like going over this again so i'll keep the list short. But imo you guys should've listened to me from the beginning instead of ignoring it until the change came implanted like I've been saying forever...

Loki it's also not about what goes with what by algorithms sometimes things just don't work out, sure spell damage and mana intakes are nice but then again I don't see how it can ever change how someone PvP's besides giving them more knowledge of the PvP and making more players better at the PvP..

I'm not trying to start anything now or point any thing too.. but is it just me or anyone else noticed a big drop on the playerbase since yesterday after these changes? =x
I like most of the ideas, but hey.. i dont pvp =x

I see 80+ online, the same as it was most of the end of last week at this time of day. I think conclusions in under the first 24 hours are still premature.

Lol dude... what you think is PvP then? PvP is exactly balancement between spell damage, mana intakes, cast delay and hp cover of healing spells and so on.

raz there was many many crashes yesterday...thats why no many people were on...

i dunno i like the changes...im glad its not based solely on drinking 1 pots for 15 mins....

The crashes were due to bug in the Wall of Stone modification. I removed it temporarily and should get it back in with the next release.

I'm saying hes making it sound much complicated than it actually is, making it seem like everything is a math question to be solved to learn this type of pvp or use it.

You can have the right code or "algorithm" for something to make it work properly like poison, but it doesn't mean it's balanced or good for the shard with this type of PvP. That goes for the mana regeneration as well.

I don't think so and don't think it ever will because it's the same exact list I pmed loki about 2 weeks ago from the test shard, then have everyone bring up the same points in this thread and from the other thread as well basically bringing up the same problems i've already posted numerous amount of times.

EDIT: Anyways what do I care, diablo 3 is coming out in 15 days

Been a while sense I have checked things out around the world of UO.. decided to come on over to in-uo.net and check out whats going on here.. Looks like my predictions are in full process... And some of you weirdo's were calling me a cancer.. What did me and my buddies say in the beginning.. If you give what you have always given.. You will get what you always got. I win.
