Roleplayers Association and an RP Proposal.
#13

Falstaff Wrote:i agree but we also don't want to put barriers in front of legitimate RP guilds that want to join.

we want all RP guilds to join so if an obvious RP guild posts in the RPA thread we should accept them without hesitation. For now we will go with a three member panel to decide on guilds that are either new or guilds that don't have a reputation for RP that wish to join. For full transparency the players on this panel are myself, Locke Cole, and Darken Rahl.

as far as RP goes this is what i tell people in Vanguard. RP is simply giving your character a personality and staying in character. If you want a storyline with your character that is up to you. But all we ask is you do not reference things from real life and you do not use acronyms in your speech.

Yes, we do want as many true RP guilds to join as possible, without question.
but in order for them to be considered true RP guilds, they must pay attention to the members associated with them.
I've yet to see an RP coordinator say anything on this subject, as well as take action on any discrepancies in-game.
I believe the guild master should be responsible for its candidates/members, first and fore most.
Placing barriers was not my intentions, but reassuring the following of RP guidelines was my concern.

I would absolutely love to see this grow with all sorts of different narratives !!

If you want to use some version of the territory map maybe we can have it that in order for a guild to expand to a new space they must meet certain requirements depending on what area they are taking such as a story in the forums or a certain amount of members, etc...
And obviously if their is a conflict in territory assuming they are virtue/vice or at least not allies, guilds can war the opposing guild for the territory.
This would make guilds create more narratives and would encourage RP guilds to interact with eachother instead of just staying in their own community.

Yew is almost taken by Woodland Merchants hehe, we own many buildings there! Also its part of our RP since we are elves.

Glad to see more RP guilds wanting to start up. Once you get setup join/apply for the RPA and well add ya to the map.
Also, I added the Woodland Merchants but the initial boundaries for yew have it all split up so i made the main part of Yew where i remember you being claimed. Once we get some sort of way to work the expansion thing we can re-do borders.
Also, if any guilds on the map or guilds that are starting have a logo, I can add that to the map instead of just the guild name. Just Pm it to me.

Since nobody has specified yet, I would like to submit Nujelm as the city for Vice. I love Nujelm, and it's very spacious and fortified. There is even a large enclose marble castle with several bedrooms, a dining hall, kitchen, pool, and garden for our gatherings. I also think we could make a very cool event out of this. Imagine the Vice leaders being transported to Nujelm for a meeting (or something) via ship. The Virtue gets word of this and sends their navy to intercept. A naval battle ensues, and the Vice navy is forced to retreat to Nujelm, and they are pushed into the city where the Vice fortify and place archers on top of the city walls. After a failed siege, Virtue is forced to go back home, and Vice declares Nujelm their new home. [this would only take a few ships and probably about 8 RPers to make it pretty awesome, but the more the better, and from more guilds. We could take screenshots every step of the way and post it on the site, or at least the forums. This is the kind of thing that can make RPing extremely cool and appealing to the first timers.]

edit: Another idea I just had, to tie in with another event Darken told me about. Perhaps the Dragon-Kin kidnap a person of the Vanguard for information and bargaining, by order of the Vice council, and they were on their way to Nujelm to keep him there (with a Vice escort) and that's how the battle happens.

I also agree, I will scout out the building you are talking about today but I THINK i know what your talking about. Now as far as "claiming" the building..Im not sure if the staff will just let us claim the building or require us to have funds. either way i fully support this and will donate every coin I have available.( and even my ship! )
Looks like Vice will have a home base soon.
