Make Crafting skills slightly less difficult
#13

sm0ke Wrote:Blacksmithing isn't hard to GM considering you have a mining script that does everything for you all you have to do is click a button saying I'm here don't kill me..

On the other hand other craft skills are harder to train because they take money rather than just time.

Even with that script it takes a long time smoke. Its alot harder here then it was on INX.

As far as the skillgain goes i dont think its fair to the people that already gmed it to lower skill gain unless they would agree. And guess what i was the first gm bs and i dont agree leave it as is. Funny thing is BS isnt the hardest skill to gm carp is cant way to see when people start doing that and what they say.

Oh I know for sure its like 2/3's harder than IN-X from 290k ingots to GM on IN-X to 400k isn't that big of a deal, but then again I was banned twice on IN-X and had to restart twice so maybe i'm just use to it by now. But yeah like we both agreed apon Blacksmithy isn't that hard Alchemey and Inscription will be harder imo becasue they require you to hunt or do other proffessions to make money.

Carp isnt that hard... if you consider that by raising carpentry you raise incscription as well.. i started carpentry from 40 and to gm it took me around 500k~600k boards plus 130k spiders silk... and it wasnt annoying at all since i had the lumberjacking macro all day and lumberjacking seems to be easier than mining...

I have a question regarding the skill gains for BS. I've started at 55 BS and have so far made daggers with about 800 iron ingots and have not received one gain. Is this normal? I'm not complaining as I agree with the reason as to why it's hard to gain, I just thought I'd atleast get one gain from 800....

just throwing this out there, but someone said it would take approx 400k+ ingots to GM blacksmithing so from 55-GM 400k is about 10k ingots =1gain

Ya that's normal, it's not as bad as it sounds. Blacksmith skillgain here is a lot faster than most places. Iron goes for 8-10 gp so it takes ~4 million gold to GM it if you decide to buy the ingots instead of mine them. That's not that bad IMO, since blacksmith is pretty much 'the' crafting skill.

Ok cool! Thanks for the info guys.

Recently gmd it and it's 500k iron of daggers, so if you're smelting them as you go you need about 340k~ iron

Why are you weeping about LONG LONG LONG time??? What is LONG for you?! Why do you think you should get things EASILY in here! Work, people! And get rewarded!

I am angry now.

Just as has been said earlier in this thread, it is simply because we have no skill cap. Cant have everyone easily maxing out their char. A completely maxed out character should be VERY rare and take a ton of time and resources on a server where you have no skill cap.

Think of it like this though: You can AFK macro all crafting skills, just not resource gathering skills. So when you sleep or are at work/school you can have the satisfaction of knowing you are chipping away at these difficult skills and reap the rewards (cool custom hued and named skill rewards and the ability to make awesome items!).

Good luck to ya in training them up! It is quite a challenge but rewarding! Big Grin

I think crafting skills should be harder, slower, longer, duller, make you grow grey hairs on your balls before you get to 90 percent. Smile

No sarcasm. I think it should be like that!
