We have nightmare whos stats are the equivalent of a drake so why not just make a drake that is tamable

Slippery slope is why.
If we can tame nightmares that are the same as drakes, why not tame drakes?
It doesn't make sense that you can tame drakes but not dragons. GM tamers should be able to tame dragons.
People should be able to find a
special item that lets you tame the Destard Guardian.
Etc, etc. Not saying that that's guaranteed to actually *happen*, just that someone will eventually request one more thing be added, etc.
Also, the Nightmare's a ******* to tame right now.

because this is what killed xuo the tameable dragons drakes the baby evol dragon eggs, it's the perfect example there's no balance in it and it's truly unfair taming would give everyone a step up in pvp. It wouldn't even really be PvP anymore it would be who could tame the biggest and strongest dragon therefore time would conflict as well on how strong your dragon is. So whoever has been here longest over time on the shard would have the strongest dragon.
EDIT: I plan on doing taming, and I still wouldn't agree with this..

True but what about not having all drakes tamable but a single, special drake or dragon that is tamable that is as hard to get as the nightmare or harder? Like how about that damn impossible boss in the fire cave that i dont think anyone has been able to kill yet... A tamable drake or dragon would be a nice prize for beating that thing after hes nerfed a bit of course

well make so the tamed dragon cant attack ppl ? Just using it for hunting ? I se your point in this depth

So in regards to taming a dragon and provocation, why not make the dragons (not greater) tameable but when you level them up they do not have the same stats as the original dragon. Have their stats more of a 'meat shield/tank' and with low int and spell casting. That way you can use them to tank mobs rather than constantly using provocation between two untamed mobs which I think is too broken because anyone and everyone can do it.
I'm not saying disable provocation but maybe change it a bit?
