Craftable Weaps
#13

chrisrc86 Wrote:Craftable weaps should surpass Vanq weaps just like in the original sphere IN. No one used to use vanq's back in the day and i think the economy would benifit as well as the demand for em would go up allot. vanq's should still be viable for pve somewhat but i dont see that much incentive to GM BS just to make armors and pvp weaps . reallllly hope to see all the original aspects of IN back in game.

on a side note they look allot cooler too running round with the craftables.

What about you could craft a new kind of weapons but you would need the regular weapon plus the ingots type: "Vanq weapon + sapphire(for example)" and that would grant your new weapon a lil more of damage(+1) or maybe a lil more of tactics(+5 AS TOO MUCH).

Thats really hard to adjust to the PVP but it can be done. Thats way it won't **** up the economy.

That idea has some merit...

You could introduce weapon enhancement, e.g. ruin + X ingot = might, might + Y = force etc.

With a cap that you cannot go past Vanq (doing this would really imbalance PvP)

This would give the blacksmiths something extra to do, give the hunters even more business (can sell lowbie magic weapons more easily) and increase the proliferation of usable weapons for PvP and PvM.

I prefer this to anything resembling "better than Vanq" craftables...

As I don't pvp i won't comment on the balancing aspect but for the economy it would be nice to see crafters come in higher demand. If the best gear is invul armor and vanqs and seeing how that can be hunted solo then there is really no reason to ever use the crafting skills.

I think that the craftables should be useful and balanced so that the more expensive ones are equal to vanqs and the cheaper ones obviously less good.

Or the craftables should be made cheaper to make(which would also include the skills for them) so that the effort and price equals the power of the item you make in the end.

We already have an item that increases weapon damage and tactics.., you can buy it with silver coins, but the max you can do is power...

I like what Mito and Carding is talking about. Another thing i think that could be cool is if blacksmiths could simply change the looks of other weapons. Say a hunter has a vanq sword, the blacksmith adds some daemonsteel ingots to it and voila, a vanq weapon with a daemonsteel look. This gives the crafters more to do, and the hunters a chance to change the looks, even though they may all be using the same weapon. Just an idea!

You are right Taran , i suppose the days depending mostly on vanq's was more balanced. I suppose what i missed was the idea when the market was flooded with craftables it was much easier to go hunt , grab some gold , grab a HH and be almost an equal to someone who has more time to play , macro , and whatnot. and made huntin alittle too easy solo without hardly needing provo. just seems like even with a good vanq and gm'ed combat skills it used to be much easier to run into a dung and solo most of it. but so u know i think ur doin a good job and on the right track and im by no means complaining, just putting my thoughts out there.

That sounds pretty awsome.

Carding Wrote:IN1 PvP functioned best when it was based on Vanqs and Invul, the craftables broke it, I am massively in favour of the new approach being taken.

PvP on IN became really broken at one point. It was so long ago i forget the reasons. All i remember was that it became pretty impossible to die 1 vs 1 unless you had a bad connection or crashed or we're like really terrible

This idea is cool it adds something extra, and it gives a reason for crafters to sell vanq's ect of different colors and also would increase the price a bit for the crafter vrs the regular person just selling a ugly looking vanq.
The more things you give crafters to make the more it adds diversity and helps crafters be different from one another.

love mito's idea.

I like this idea and have actually been adding it to my test server. I also changed so crafted weapons retain the color from the ingot type.
Right now I've made so daemon steel = force, reactive = power and sapphire = vanq both when you craft weapons and enhance them.
