#13

hey rabbi theres a difference between constructive critism and and just saying stuff cuz u think its targerted at you. This isn't targeted at you individually. Please read all reasons/posts by other ppl before u dump the idea.

id also like to see some staff input on this idea when theyhave the time to reply

Who owns lots of statics just for the sake of owning them? Who has more than 2 statics?
#16

It's a short list.

Luda I already talked to you about this. Taran himself did not want a house decay timer on the statics. Personally, I think every house/static should decay if unused for x period of time but Taran didn't agree with that, so this is how he it might stay.

I like the idea of banking and refunding the static cost and contents if unused for too long. Though honestly, I can only think of two statics off the top of my head that are still unused.

Of course there is one problem with static decay and that is, some people were promised their static when the shards merged, much like how pvp was promised too. This is what I think Rabbi was trying to get across when he made that comment. Making a rule for future statics might be a different story... but that doesn't solve the "I want someone elses static" issue here.

I can understand and appreciate the fact that IN:R players were promised they'd have their static transfered, but at this point if they haven't join I figure there's a low chance they will. And if they did join just to get it transfered and haven't played since then, well they're not putting it to use and are simply stopping someone else from getting it. I seem to remember that being a strong winning argument for why houses should decay... so people that aren't using their house don't use up the land when someone else could want it.

Furthermore, will static transfers be enabled for all of time or will they stop being transfered come a certain point? Similar to how we previously had a char transfer period and that was stopped.

How exactly did static transfers work by the way? The day IN:X launched were a bunch of static's RSVP'd in hopes of the player coming back, or is it only RSVP'd once the person actually logs in? In that case, what happens if someone buys a static today, and 3 months from now a former IN:R player logs in and finds out someone already owns their static...

rabbi there's a lot of people that have money and stop thinking everything that invovles alot of money is targeting you.

Shade i'm saying though because of the amount of statics owned and unused people should pay some sort of fee (tax) in order to keep their static...

Also 80 brings up a good point when do static transfers end? I remember seeing somewhere that character transfers end at some point.

Rabbi does bring up a good point though, GM Meditation is a joke, maybe it should be increased.

I'm all for having players logging in, in order to keep something if they want it really but looking at it from both ends I can see how it would be messed up to take away something that was promised.

As for statics, I'm pretty sure all INR statics were transferred as soon as the merge happened. This involved those players actually logging in here and paging for it to be done so its not like they are owner-less.

Adding a rule for new statics is fine in my opinion but since everyone is always so damn stubborn about what was promised, I don't think that transferred statics should ever decay or be forfeited, as that wouldn't be very fair.

One thing to keep in mind here is that a static that was seemingly abandoned for a long time recently had its owner return. If that static was gone when he came back, I doubt he would have stayed and I guarantee he would have been quite pissed.

If you install a tax on statics, I want to see PVP changed. I want invis potions added, meditation rate increased, and total mana potions craftable.

jesus relax? when you pay for a house irl you don't pay taxs? makes sense to me
