Possible add-ons??
#13

Well if namechanges are allowed it will be a one-time use per char, it will cost a lot and it will be displayed publically on the website.

Which means it could only be used by players who just don't like their name. And I think very few (if any) would go ahead and do this namechange with these conditions.

Damn.. Very strict on it I guess.

Irl murderers always try to hide their identity.. so maybe could be less strict for murders? Smile wont show on site and as many times as u want

No life is complicated only if you make it to be

Irl murderers also go to prison for 25 years to life once they are caught. Shall we add that too? Oh and until you are caught we could plaster your picture up everywhere and inform all authorities of your crimes. That way when guards are called on you they would toss you in a cell instead of merely attacking you.:p

Truthfully, lesser criminals and everyday people have better luck with aliases and name changes being secretive.

Yea cause they aren't known very much. Like gangbang said; he made a new char and 5 seconds into a duel smoke said 'hi gangbang'

I don't see much of a point to getting a name change if it will cost you A LOT and your new and old names are publicly displayed. Takes the whole point out of it unless you REALLY REALLY REALLY don't like your name and rather spend 100k or however much remacroing the pvp and hunting skills and keeping your old char for any crafting skills you have.

I understand the whole concept of living with your actions where if you're an *sshole to everyone and screw a few people over you shouldn't be able to get off for 100k or however much, but putting the list in public view more or less makes getting a name change pointless.

I think if anything the STAFF should have an internal list of who does a name change to keep track of it, but don't make it public...

The Idea to have a name change is to change if you dont like your name and not for hide who you are.

Also is pretty hard hide who you really are even with a name change. Sooner or Later someone will discover.

On XUO it was to do the exact opposite; hide who you are and give you that chance at a new name without people knowing (until they figured it out of course). It was great to enter a tour looking like some noob player and then killing a good player and making everyone laugh at the good player for a bit. This happened a lot on XUO and it worked as a good gold sink to take money out of the world.

Well that depends how you act... If smoke changes his name and runs around with Luda all the time it will be pretty obvious who he is. Same if Lederoil gets a name change and walks around in the same clothes and same colors I always see him in... But if you get a name change and sex change, dress differently or even just wear different colors and don't run around acting like you usually do, your new name will stay secret for a while.

On IN name changes were completely forbidden. This is the reason that it may be allowed under the circumstances mentioned, its the middle ground of two extremes I think.

I understand on IN they were forbidden and that's why they weren't added at the start of INX, and that's why I suggested the staff have a list of all name changes done to keep tabs on it.

i was about to suggest the same thing as taran before i read it. i mean many ppl don't like their names, and i thought we were supposed to have "normal" names or whatever u wanna call it, not stupid names like iPwn-w00t etc.. so a one-time namechange would be perfect so that u have to think of the perfect name fit for u, cause u will get stuck to it.
