Is this truly a pvp shard
#13

I think the PVP system is great the way it is. I'm from IN myself, and after seeing how much this shard does represent the old IN (although it does deviate quite a bit, but I do believe it deviates a lot from XUO as well) I think it is completely fair for PVP to stay as it is and how the XUO guys like it and were promised. I would just like to see more craftable weapons implemented to make blacksmithing, alchemy, and such worth something aside from crafting pots and pretty armors. I thought that was one of the funnest things on IN1, having a weapon to match your armor set, and having them do good damage / good AR. For those of you that PVP'ed on IN1, you know what I'm talking about, and with the addition of these items it wouldn't defer from the PVP we have going currently, just further to make it more diverse, thus more challenging and more fun!

I was thinking about this...
Hunter is not a profession itself. So why not make possible to craft colored weapons to match real magical weaps? This way, blacksmithing and bowcrafting should become into very much profitable jobs. Accurating and so, could stay the same (Monsters drop them), but colored weapons could work as ruin/might/force/power/vanq weapons. Since AFK mining is ilegal, it costs a lot of time to get a oceanic/daemon steel/adamantium/sapphire.

Let´s make a fast table:
Ruin: Iron, Old Copper, Shadow, Silver
Might: Verite, Rose, Gold, Ice
Force: Valorite, Bloodrock, Aqua, Opiate
Power: Mytheril, Sand Rock, Black Diamond, Black Rock
Vanquishing: Oceanic, Daemon Steel, Adamantium, Sapphire

All this stuff would make:
- Less item based PVP (More ways to get a good weap)
- Economic interaction between players
- Jobs like Bowcraft (maybe... colored logs? :?) and Blacksmith would become very profitable
- Fashion business (people want a Sapphire bard to suit their Sapphire armor, but knowing the Oceanic bard hurts the same damage aswell Wink )
- Variety in the world and more fun for crafters and players. More things to loot too.

EDIT: The best thing about this is that PVP system stays the same, because not special effects are added, just an easier way to get ready for PVPing at the top :O

Thata a great idea Love and as you say none should have anything against this cause it really wouldnt ruin anything. Maybe let those weapon need like 30-40 ingots to make or at least more then 10 as the normal ones are, would make sure there wouldnt be to many of those colored weapons from sapphire etc.

I totally disagree with colouring weapons in unique hue's. Maybe some simples colours, but i think if u paint any kind of weapons in rare colours it will make r/r weapons almost useless
#17

I agree with gang bang. Give them the nromal dye tub hue selection, and keep the rares for r/r weapons. That is only fair, GM dye tubs shouldn't dye weapons either. Just script another "dyes" unit for weapons and relate it to tailoring, or use the AOS feature and use an ingot to color the item and script in a magic ingot that has a 2% chance mine rate, and requires gm mining to mine up. The magic ore/ingot has dye capabiities, it can use the normal dye hues and/or the colored ingot hues.

I knew someone would say this. No reply for you :\ Nevertheless, if everybody make an effort we could find a compensation for R/R owners: For example, they could change a R/R weapon for a R/R cloth or something.
R/R are infact useless. It´s only fashion... What do everybody think?

r/r is useless?! OMG! Any accurate vanq weapon what u want colored and named how'd u like is useless? i think this additional is ok only with normal hue, or just without anyTongue

Ouch, I thought R/R weaps were normal renamed & recolored weapons. Sorry :\
Ok, I have not any compensation for that Sad

PD: ****ing R/R weapons... hehe

Hahaha ;p

The R/R weapons are actually the highest and most rare prize you can get in a tourney at this point. It is a deed which you can use on any weapon you like, to rename it with your own special name, and a color of your choice. Most people choose to keep it for one of their real nice supremely accurate vanquishing-weapons in order to have an real cool colored and renamed tourney weapon. The reason most people choose to use it as a tourney weapon is because it does not newbify the weapon, and it is so rare, so most people do not dare using it outside of tourneys, which is understandable.

The R/R weapon deed is worth about as much as 100 r/r cloth deeds pretty much, so that commend was real funny actually, haha, I loved that Big Grin *cuddles*

Love Wrote:why not make possible to craft colored weapons to match real magical weaps?

Being able to create "magical weapons" (ruin, might, force.. etc etc) out of ingots - colored with the same color as the ingots - has been a future over at XUO in the past. However what it did was to "lower the rareness" of R/R weapons, it was pretty much "not so special" to run around with a colored weapon anymore, everybody had them, and people rarely bothered to look at the name to see if it was a cool real rare R/R weapon, or a normal shitty colored weapon from ingots.

People who got their R/R weapon deeds had to decide upon a really rare color which could not be made with ingots, to make people at least LOOK at it, but it's still no fun for them if there's real good colored weapons all around the world, since that is such a high rare prize in the tourney =/

Gangbang Wrote:Maybe some simples colours

Perhaps. But coloring weapons at all will make r/r weapons be a lot less desirable, even if the weapons people run around with aren't "as cool colors", I mean a colored weapon is still cool even if it is not a rare color =/

Just the fact that people now are able to get a newbied R/R hatchets by GMing lumberjacking, a newbied R/R pickaxe from mining, or a newbied R/R bow, kind of ruins a huge part of the R/R weapons purpose, since that makes the R/R weapons a lot less desirable and rare. However that was a big part of the IN-world and that is why we kept it, since we do honor the agreement of the merge.

People usually fight to win a R/R weapon to look cool and good with it, not because it is good (after all you still can't see how good it is after you rename it). Having a NEWBIED weapon which pretty has the same "coolness" as the R/R weapon, one that you can get just by GMing a skill, already lowers that "coolness" a lot from winning those R/R weapons.

I think adding rare colors to weapons may lower or pretty much ruin that coolness and specialness completely out of R/R weapons, and that is why I do not think it would be a good idea. Plus I like the fact that you don't see players run around with colored weapons everywhere, that makes it way more worth fighting to win one, because when you actually get one your weapon will be one of the few coolest weapons at the shard, not just "one out of thusand colored weapons".

However I do agree with the fact that we should try and make blacksmithing even more useful. Perhaps we could make it so that you are able to craft magic good weapons (ruin, might, force, power, vanquishing) with it, but just NAME them "A adamantium bardiche of vanquishing" or something, but still keep it the normal color. Sure it may ruin some of the "feel" that it is a adam weapon, but it still gives the blacksmiths another thing to earn cast with, and I believe that people will buy their weapons either way, because vanquishing weapons are pretty hard to come over, and them being able to craft them will be a real cool future no matter if they can make them colored or not. Plus them being able to make force weapons and stuff will probably be pretty useful for "outside of tourney duels". I can imagine how people would buy those weapons from blacksmiths all the time, since they would be too lazy to HUNT for weapons like that, but they have the cash to buy them, and they won't be thaaat expensive if they buy a force weapon, but still expensive enough for the blacksmith to earn money on them.

Anyways I dunno what you think about that idea, but at least it won't ruin the rareness of R/R weapons, and I think colored weapons (even with normal hues) may do that. This is however just a suggestion, just like yours, I'm not saying that we CAN'T or WON'T have those normal hue weapon in the future, I'm just saying why I think it may mess up things :/

By the way! I almost forgot one important thing! As far as I am aware we will be adding the "hell's halberd" and stuff like that, which is a part of the IN-legacy. These are (as far as I am aware) colored weapons, which makes fire-damage on hit and stuff like that. I believe that these weapons are crafted by blacksmiths? so that should help the blacksmiths a lot! :]

Hate

I understand everything you have said Hate, but what about giving players the ability to dye weapons or make colored weapons using a normal dye tub? This wouldn't reduce the r/r weapon system at all. The normal hues suck really hard anyways. That would still give the ingot colored hues and the rare colored hues a function.

Tell me what ya think.

Hate, you are a bad boy ¬¬ I didn´t know a R/R ticket can be used with a SuprAcc-Vanq-Weap and so :o
I like your "rare ingot weaps with normal hue" idea very much. It is not as usefull as the rare hued weaps because they have not the "fashion utility", but of course this is better than nothing Tongue
#24

Quite simple, just:

Ruin weapons = one colour or two
Might weapons = one colour or two
Force weapons = one colour or two
Power weapons = one colour or two
Vanq weapons = one colour or two

Of course that colour should be different than normal...

So with R/R you could select much more colours to choose and the specials ones. like Black, white, and those ones, rose also Big Grin

For example you could have weapons made by crafters without Tactics with the colours... so hunters should have more reward.

and an extremely accurate vanq will cost more so hunters also can trade or sell.

Ruin = Green a strange one... could be Old Copper
Might = Yellow a strange one... could be Gold
Force = Blue a strange one... could be Aqua
Power = Orange a strange one... could be Sand Rock
Vanq = Red a strange one... could be daemons

see u.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------
Can i ask what happens with the server... ?

Dec 09 = 225 players
Ene 05 = 107 players...

probably some are with holidays.. but its a huge difference so... what's happening?

see u

So if u want to suggest other colours or whatever...
these are as Love said the magical weapon and its minerals:
Ruin: Iron, Old Copper, Shadow, Silver
Might: Verite, Rose, Gold, Ice
Force: Valorite, Bloodrock, Aqua, Opiate
Power: Mytheril, Sand Rock, Black Diamond, Black Rock
Vanquishing: Oceanic, Daemon Steel, Adamantium, Sapphire
