ever tried counterstrike?

this shard will die with your attitude seriously. Im really considerring giving this up entirely. Here's how my day went...

10am-12pm mining...no problems there apart from a fast teleport when a murderer turned up.
12pm-3pm went out and left stuff going.
3pm-5pm went skinning in Delucia...watched the same person get reskilled about 4 times while I hid nearby and watched a murderer spout a load of 'ROFL' etc.
5pm-7pm did some tailoring, and watched 2 red flagged players sit outside my house, and sorted out a forum problem.
7pm-8pm watched another 100 or so people afk at the bank getting the skills via macroing so they can go 'pwn some nubs ROFLOFLOFL'
7.59pm walking around the bank inspecting people and had a gate opened in front of me, and due to the lag walked through...instantly killed and subjected to french 'rofl nub' etc stuff.

So seriousl;y now. Is this what all new players should expect? To be basically restricted to stannding around britain either afk macroing or killing rats? Is macroing and getting into a lynch party the only thing that this server offers? BEcause so far Ive loved every second here but it seems the only possible entertainment here is to macro 3 skills then ride around 2 button macroing people then stealing 3 regs off them.

So am I wasting my time here?

1 fs scrool = 150 gold , ppl carry like 10 nos 10 xuo = 20 fs 20x150=3000 just on fs , den ppl carry lighting to and sometimes gh and reflecr scrools so its gona cost more than 3500 probely

armor price will just go up sooner or later , if ppl know u need it there not gona sell it for same price , so sooner or later price will go to like 8-10k

regs cost 3.1k at stone...

mana/gh pots are not cheap it cost 65 gold to make one mana pot dont know about heal but ur gona carry like 10-20 mana and 10-20 heal

so anyway u take it it gona cost u about 10-15k so suit up everytime u die... so unles u guys plan on makin monsters drops like 1k+ items dont think a lot off ppl will b abel to supply dem self to gank except for ppl caftin items

You make it sound like everything is so expensive, which it's not. And your saying that pk armour like iron..shadow...coppper..is going to cost 8-10k...when u can go and buy a suit of iron from a vendor for 1k....I don't think so tim. The armour prices will stay the same price. You make it sound like your never going to get the OTHER persons loot either. Obviously you must think your going to die all the time and be spending all this money. Your wrong. Even noobs get loot every now and then.

I know when I gank I usually like to loot the other people and obviously your not into this..if you believe your going to be spending 13k to resuit everytime. Then you're retarded. I know when I die I usually come pack with a few pieces of armour like 2 of each scroll and 1 of each pot. Why? because I'm coming back with more people and dropping the dude that dropped me. I get my loot back and then I'm back in business. Then the guy I dropped comes back with the some of the stuff he banked from dropping us. It's a cycle that shouldn't end unless your an idiot and have like 50 of each scroll on you and 100 of each pot. And saying ur going to be spending 3.1k for regs everytime you go and pk is retarded also. I've only been playing this shard for a week and have pvp'd very little..but somehow I have come up with 10-12 full reg bags just by looting other people and banking. If ur not such a twit and carry 3 bags around, you can save. Also on your list of expenses you forgot bandages..so add another 5k for those cuz that's pry about right don't u think?

And also if you only have the resources to go and gank once...then you shouldn't be ganking...usually people make pk bags..and have a large amount of em. Only people like you think you have to pay 13k everytime u go out and pk...Most the people I know don't go out with vast amounts of scrolls and pots either, because they bank on killin others to build on the items they have.

I'm totally for it and hope it's implemented if it's not already. I played on IN:A the poser IN that was up during the first development of this shard. They had the EB spell to own nakeds and I thought it was hilarious. Just picture 5 nakeds vs 2 armour'd...usually if you were able to survive there first dump then you could take them out with the EB because it did so much damage. I dont' know if the damage will be the same here as it was there but it's still fun and a great way to get the crafters rollin.

and personally I go and gank naked but still would like to see this, but only to the gankin aspect not to tournies. That would be weak if you could EB in tournies and it would change the XUO pvp. So if you could disable it during tournies then I think everyone would go for this idea.

I do think that your numbers are VERY worst case scenario.

My gank suit (without armor) is normally what I posted below. The prices has been taken from the trade forum.
8 XUO (x 100GP)
4 NOS (x 100GP)
14 LIGHTS (x 50-80GP - Didn't find any in the trade forums)
10 manas (x 100GP)
3 Gheals (x 75GP)
(I never use Gheal or reflect scrolls in gank)

That is a total of 3335GP for your scroll bag.

Now, buying reg bags should (according to me) only be used for "fast resuit" situations. My reg bag from the vendor would cost around 4 x 50 x 8 = 1600GP.

Now, that is a total of ~ 5K for a regular gank suit. Now, adding armor to that, which you can buy from the vendor for around 1k, is not that much. It's only 1/5th increment and lands you at a total of 6k.

My idea is that a iron(~28) armor will make it so that EB would only be used in gank in low mana situations, with higher armor, light would be preferred in the same situation situation. If you buy your armor from a smith, you can prolly get old-verite for the same price and you have higher armor right away.

I understand SombraXs point though, UO IS a lot about looks

Heh, we do forget that XUO PvP is based almost entirely on ganking, so it would of course be hard for them to let go.

And, for EB, are you going to make the Damage / AR scale somewhat linear, or like "I just bought 500 dollars in leather, so Im pretty much safe?"

I hope at the very least that it starts so that with 0-5 AR (dunno what clothes give when naked), you can die with two EBs or Explosions.

Of course your wasting your time. You just said u spent 10 hours playing uo. Go find something to do.

And by the way, if you didnt realize, the shard is pretty damn new. Sorry that not everyone has the time like you to macro up all your skills real quick. Time will take its place, and soon enough a majority will be all macroed up, more pvp will take place, houses will be built, bases will be made, guilds will evovle. So please suck it up, stop complaining, and maybe find something to do other than play uo.

umm im sorry if english isnt your first language but you've totally missed the point of what I tried to say.

a) the so called pvp ive seen so far consists of nothing but gangs of 3-5 people jumping obviously underpowered people then telling them theyre crap at pvp.
b) completely indiscriminate ganking, no attempt at any kind of style or flair. instead of nuking a naked miner why not say something like 'gimme all your ores or ill kill you' rather than just 3 buttoning the first thing you see.
c) I dont macro, thats kind of the point. I dont work in IT and have very little understanding of making macros and to be honest I dont want to. I'd rather not be a clone. And after 9 days here I have 0 100% skills. Though Ive got one above 90%
d) i work 10-12 hour days normally but that particular day i was beaten by the weather as i usually work outside.
e) anyone who doesnt use macro's and doesnt want to, or hasnt been playing uo for the last few years is unwelcome here? Is that what you're saying?

I dont get it really. You want people to come here to keep the shard going but then you dont because you want it for yourself? Is that what you're saying? My point is, for someone returnong to the game after a long time or for someone totally new its going to be a real uphill struggle while people just seem to want to PK to piss other people off rather than actually pvp by picking fights they have a risk of losing or not winning. I'd like to have a go at pvp some time but at the moment it seems you have no choice but to join the afkers at the bank to do so. At the moment I prefer exploring and trying out all the other skills. And I think most people who start playing would like to do that also.

Macroing is a part of the game. If you wanna get skills by actually doing it by attending the keyboard, do so. But your not going to have a chance at pvp as you all ready can tell. You can go around and explore all you want, and people can kill you all they want. Macro when you go to bed, play when you wake up. Not that hard of a concept.

New people will have a hard time playing this server, as a matter of fact, any server. It took me about a full yearn to fully understand everything and start to get good. I was a huge noob that first year, and never really got to pvp.

Also, theres tons of other towns than Brit to macro and many places to hunt that pks dont go to.
