When you're an old vamp like me you're used to the constant shit you got from IN1, blood bottles this, shrouds that blah blah. Sorry Tongue

Trust me, I break no rules for anyone. Not even for the popular players. Anyone caught outside the rules for this will be warned and then I will personally strip your items until further review. This should be taken as a pre warning. I am a vengeful counselor. Don't go against the law.

I also think every serious RP should include some part that gives them a slight disadvantage in the mechanics of the game. Daemons, etc, can't wear a helmet (so they can lose up to several AR when wearing higher level stuff). Vamps have the blood bottle which can be a pain (I also think they shouldnt be allowed to wear helmets so the shroud doesnt look all glitched out and stuff).

Basically, I dont think you should be able to obtain a visual RP item (something other than like, newbied books or white gangsta shoes, hah). Anything where you get a skin or appearance-altering item (mask, gloves, etc), should be received at a cost.

Thats debatable I think. On one hand it would keep it to the people who truly want to rp but on the other hand it will handicap people just because they enjoy to rp. Though us daemons don't wear helms we could... I just don't allow this because it wouldn't make sense.

With that said it should be on the people rping to follow their own guidelines on how or what their characters can do or wear. I could slap on a helm and act like it is custom made for me... but what human would make me such a helm. Now if I was a blacksmithy master I could craft such a helmet and be able to wear it.

Chances are though you will never see me with a helmet on regardless. My point is I make the choice to give myself a small handicap to fit my rp but it should be my choice only and my responsibility to follow the rp. If I was to wear helmets at one point it would most likely call for me gming blacksmith and writing a story on how I mastered the art and found a way to craft helms to fit over my horns.

what exactly are these items by the way?

and i think most people who wish to RP do so in their own manner tbh. I met a goblin in britain i think hehe...couldent tell but it was green and spoke funny. sold me an anvil. was odd to start with then really felt a lot of respect for him/her =]. dont see how items enhance this though. maybe new hair/face/body textures...but not physical items.

I agree that items aren't -absolutely necessary- for a good roleplay, but if that's what is needed to encourage people, well, the more the merrier as they say Big Grin

What was the start of all this?
When did the cogs of fate begin to turn?
Perhaps it is impossible to grasp that answer now,
From deep within the flow of time...

But for a certainity, back then,
We loved so many, yet hated so much,
We hurt others and were hurt ourselves...
Yet even then, we ran like the wind,
Whilst our laughter echoes,
Under cerulean skies...

But items can add to the RP of a char.
Hard to play a goblin if you have human skin and a face of a human.
There a green skin and a orc/goblin mask helps alot. It Also helps the peopel that run into these charecters, to understand who they are, else they would just think, hmm what a weird guy talking shitty english.
There are many ways to take the RP and some do it just for the items, while other really spend alot of time building there char and the RP around it.
I spend dunno what 2 months back on IN1 before i could start with my RP of Shadok. A wird old man protecting the dragons in destard. Only fighting with magic (which was quite hard with the system we had with that sphere system) Some are good at it other not. Some do it because they think it's funny while others simpely do it for the items.

Need pots or stangs drop me a PM, i got it all.

Vampires don't have a blood bottle, we use healing like everyone else. And the shroud is also fixed so we can wear a helmet and it looks like we don't. I believe the daemon skull is the same deal.

Ah, nvm then. I guess I was thinking that people didn't join Vampire just for the shrouds... Rolleyes

And yeah, there are ways to imagine your way around anything, but I just think as far as the mechanics of the game are concerned, and making it so that RP items have to actually be earned and truely desired, there should be some sort of penalty, like what I mentioned. Right now, it seems that people are doing it just to be cool, and not to help they portray a unique character.

Never really cared about the people who trash talk, but when Roleplayers do that, its not that nice lol.
