Shards that have people that are gm in every craft suck.

I agree... I think that there should be skills which people should have and others where people shouldnt. Having all skills gmed would be shitty cause everyone has everything, meaning that everyone can survive on their own.

The idea with having skills hard to gm is that you need to look for items from other players and buy them, not to get everything on your own. you need to have a "profession" in a certain skill.

Only thing I believe that should be changed is for the new guys and how they can start the shard independantly and have a chance.

ps: that does mean making magery reasonably fast to gain. because it's a skill EVERYONE has so it's not rare at all... it should sort of hard to get but at the same time easy.

No matter what anyone says, I can't help but feel like me constantly macroing 24/7 is just delaying the inevitable. I will gm all my combats eventually, and get my magery up past 90. When will this be? I don't know... a month?

I have to wait a month before I can compete with the vets in PVP! nevermind months upon months before competing with them in one craft skill. What is the difference in waiting a month or a week? It's still a long, inconvenient amount of time to wait before you can start battling other players fairly. The way I see it, players have little choice but to waste their time and the server's bandwidth while their chars brainlessly macro for hours upon hours with dismal hope to be at your machine when you gain a tenth of a percent. I mean seriously, slide the noobs a break since a large % of players received such a nice welcome gift. Give us a chance to catch up.

Magery at best would be the key to making it a bit more "fair and balanced." God, I hate Fox News for that term.

Magery, by being easier, gives newbie characters a chance to make money, buy shit from GM crafters. Otherwise, they'll just stock up, which I assume will be the outcome anyway, and that's really not an economy.

There are two sides to this, both with good points, but it would be nice to be able to go buy a shit load of bandages and just macro until the cows come home.

I still advocate that all crafts not be transfered. Then it really wouldn't be "Carebear" as many keep saying and everyone is on the same foot, save combats.

Usually the first one to GM smithy gets to dominate until someone else comes along and competes, thus, en economy. I'm already looking at people with exceedingly accurate vanqs, and they're decent weapons too. Along with rare tubs, etc...so, transferring the tubs is also fair? Eh.

**** it. I'm tired of chatting to deaf, stubborn ears. It's easy to judge when you have it all already.

so in my opinion most of the things we suggest about economy is better for vets than for newbs. Totally unfair

Well i would like that staff members say something about if they are gonna think about vets and newbs differences or something about what they think in a private staff thread because i have read so many post about skill complain and difference between a vet and newb and i start to think that staff is getting bored about this. And what i want to know is what are they thinking or going to do (Polls... etc).

Your idea about BoDs was fine and well put. That was a suggestion. Topics like this however do not really resolve anything.
I can tell you though, the staff are not likely to change much to help anyone catch up. The fact is this shard isn't new, it is merged. It is no different being new here then joining any other already existing shard.
New players didn't get beat out of anything, they joined late, thats all there is to it.
I wonder if you would say this stuff on any shard you joined that had people further along then you...

You know what man, it IS a new shard. Why would it be in BETA stage if it wasn't a new shard? Why would Maka and the rest of the staff be putting in full-time-job-hours fixing BUGS if this wasn't a new shard? Why do you think they already adjusted the skill gain once, and even said they would look at it again if it is unfit... If this wasn't a new shard?

I think skills should take a while because it keeps the shard active and not sitting at the bank showing off all their rares cause they got nothing else to do. Go hunting, im not even gm all skills infact i got no gm skills but hiding. All my combat skills at 50-80 swords being my highest followed by 68 healing. So stop acting like a little kid, if you want a easy shard theres plently out there that give you free gm skills when you join.

Good for you man, really. So now instead of people at the bank in rares, we have just the vets sitting at the bank in rare armor, and everyone else is macroing stealth/spirit speak/wtfever. If you've been to a bank recently you know that this isn't a lie. The noobs who don't macro quickly become victim to the vets who haven't had to. I'm glad that you are happy with your low skills and inability to compete in PvP, because they are going to stay like that for an excessively long time.

But one thing I will not do is just sit here and not contribute to the shard, as you and the OP suggest to do. Why don't we just remove the forums from the website, and while we're at it, remove the page a GM option ingame... Because they don't want to hear from us amirite?

If there is a vet with a gm blacksmith he can now start to do great bods so he will receive early very nice rewards. so he will get more money from the start than a newb with a bod

This is a new shard its the mix of two shards. if it would haven't been new you should have now everything u had in IN. its suppose you dont have all you had there.

im a "vet" and i dont have a single GM skill, i have a bunch above 80 tho, why am i not complaining about skillgain? its simple. because the amount of *****ing and whining you guys are doing is going to desensitize the staff to the point where they dont give a shit..and then things are going to suck for all of us.
