Ditto... Like I said, WoW was too repetitive for me; and like he said, "quest quest quest, level, quest quest quest etc...BAH I say!

This is a signature.

I wasnt backing up any game in my post, I was only seperating the differences Smile

maka Wrote:Why the **** are we arguing about this? It's a personal choice that brought a really worthless discussion up. You are not to forced to play either game type and no game type is really better than the other. If someone wants to pay to play to get special features, let them. It takes upkeep to keep a game like WoW up. I'm sure they are greedy bastards too and make a lot of money, but damn, it's their money. Someone has made a game where people willingly pay to play, I'd say thats genius. If someone else wants to play UO free shards, then thats their choice to.

Fact is, paying for a game is just like paying for anything else that gives you joy. If you think its stupid to pay joy, maybe you should re-evaluate the drink you by. If you tend to by sodas, my a water, its cheaper and it does the job. See that cool car? Don't buy it, taxes on it are higher, by that electric car. Etc etc. I could give stupid ass examples all day. It's all about what something is worth to you.

No your completely right. Wow for instance, is made so you dont have to think at all.. thats how they attract the young generation as well as the old. The kids of today "not like us" hate games that you have to think, they just want flash and want things to be EASY. Now of course that isnt EVERY kid.. but if you ever play WoW lol, walk around and see the conversations going on. Kids of today would hate UO because its a game you actually have to do some research and work to become a real contender. While in Wow.. as long as you keep doing quests and play 24x7 you will make it to the top.

I played WoW and COH and both only lasted a month and got bored. I find all of the games coming out are like that now..
Its all just about money now anyway.. most Pay to play MMORPG's of Today, basically make you pay to get useless items like clothes that do nothing special, or events that have soo many ppl that it lags so bad you can barely move, and all the veterans reap the rewards lol
I'd rather play CS anyday.

Lindenwood Wrote:Actually, the exact opposite. You fit the exact description I was talking about (the "genious" type). Wink .

Basically, any game that requires greater user effort (either in the form of personal skill for multiplayer shooter games like the HalfLife mods, in the form of time invested, like for skill gain in UO, or a combination of both like in gaining skill in UO, and using it in the relatively complicated PVP), is, IMO, geared more toward more "advanced" minds. From what Ive seen, games like WOW require less user effort to get good entertainment out of it. However, again only from what Ive seen, WOW seems to be more of a game that "walks you through," since it seems to be basically like [Quest, Quest, Quest, gain character level, repeat with new list of quests]. Rather than UO where there is no more of a "set path" than there is in the real world, which is basically to "get ahead, and be happy," heh.

I know I sound extremely conceited saying all this, but it is simply what I have observed.

*edit*

By the way... no staff should take this to mean I wont be donating Wink .

Hehe... I figured you'd all agree Smile . Now, go try saying something like this on a WOW forum....  .

I must say this community plays a HUUUUUUGE part in why I still like this game.

UO will always be more interactive than WoW, and that, according to me, is what makes it a lot of fun.

I personally quit playing WoW 2 years ago to play a game thats ~10 years:p

WOW is boring coz is too slow, UO is much more faster and funny Big Grin

Don't you know I'm Loco?

I guess that depends on how you play either game.
WoW pvp is a bit more fast paced if you're a rogue ;/

Former WoW lover. I hated raids, so naturally I lost interest as I approached 60/70.

why uo is the best mmorpg for me is becouse its the one that is more realistic than the others, no 24/7 leveling, no 97535 hp characters, full loot, stealing, pvp everywhere, the housing system, so much freedom, and the best part, the feeling when walking alone in the woods or caves, never knowing who could show up and who was a murderer. anything could happen..

if they made a new UO exactly the same but first person with 3d graphics like oblivion. and maybe a few more skills and equipment. that game would be almost impossible to beat

I love open-ended games. I hate having to do quests. "Go kill 10 hogmuffins and bring their crumbs back to me." ..."How about I go kill your whole family...bring their heads back to you and then kill YOU and steal all your stuff?"

I think I may give Eve another try until this shard opens up. No job and another month until Uni starts up again.
