If you don't tame an animal and herd it from its spawn point it will teleport back after a while.
I didn't know only tamed animals can walk through gates but I think that's a good thing. Means taming certain animals is harder since you have to do it on the spot.

Its not IN1 style !!!
In old IN1 style, Example; If i killed someone and he/she had daemon mustang, i can attack or heard it to the gate, than pass through the gate to where i want... Keep it in a place to out of mastery. than tame it.

And that's what I said in my posts, lol. Only spawned mounts that have never been tamed will teleport back to their spawnpoint if you gate them away.
