You claim that people leave because its hard, I havent seen that. But let me say that, if hunting and crafting gets nerfed I would be the first to leave the shard, and alot more would come with me.

your threats are useless, you know how many times rabbis hunting spots have been nerfed before and is still here, not to mention all of ministry for that matter

btw don't ever threaten that you would personally hurt the shard by taking players away because hunting was made a little easier or it was fixed up a little bit, because that just shows you being a baby and doesn't look good for the shard

Kandorin Wrote:Listen, you can get your pvp skill in like 3 days.

No. You can't. It takes about a week, assuming you have the resources necessary to get them all (regs for magery/resist, aids for healing) and knowing HOW to do it and having an efficient macro to do it. Most people don't know how to do it nor do they have an efficient macro to do it. How many people haven't you seen dead in the mercenary camp due to crappy macros? I've seen douzens... And I'm not even there often lol.
I'm sick and tired of hearing "you CAN do this and that in this and that amount of time". Yes, it's possible but far from everyone CAN. One CAN have 56 mill (ask Rabbi). One CAN become GM blacksmith in one week (ask Rabbi). Yet noone besides Rabbi has done any of this... How come? Is everyone else a retard (including me and you)? Because obviously you CAN.

I didn't mention crafting, that can be left as is.

Yes, to you. Even to me (who has played UO for like 10 years on and off), those exact same spots are hard, extreme, impossible. Stop saying things ARE based on personal preferences.

A long time ago I wanted skills lowered a little even after they added a little skill stone.. But now id say its good.. that little camp in pits really helps. You can start off with gm Healing Resist and 90 magery. The only "PvP" skills that require regs and do the others all for free afk. Combats in that camp afk and Eval and Anatomy Afk..

If you think some people that recently left was because skill gain I HIGHLY doubt it. plus the character transfers came out once again. They left because of different reasons which arent 100% what it is.

If only they would post what they dislike on forums.

Edit: I Was NEVER a hunter on xuo or any other shards.. just a pvper. And I think hunting here is easy... xtreme mobs super easy. I use 1ev per drag.. 1ev for like all the x skellies. Of course im also using some bs scrolls but not much.. and you need to be shooting the mobs also.. or hitting them.

No life is complicated only if you make it to be

Noone listens to me... Me, myself and I also think it's good. What I DON'T think is good is people leaving because THEY think it's NOT good. So what I want is to make it easier for THEM, because if THEY don't play, there's noone for me to pvp against. Get me now?

Personally I think what I suggested a few posts back is a middle ground between the people asking for all skills to be made easier to encourage new joiners who don't want to dedicate untold amounts of time before they can really play IN:X, and for those who want to leave things as they are and risk a dwindling playerbase (personally I think the playerbase is doing fine right now, it's just that a lot of people are in that exam/march break period of the year so they are away from the computer and studying or taking a 1-week vacation in the Caribbeans like a lot of people I know from school did).

I think if people get a better idea of what I'm suggesting they might be less resistant to it so here's a further explanation on what I was talking about earlier.

Part 1 - Crafting Skills:

Leave Alchemy, Blacksmithy, Bowcraft/Fletching, Carpentry, Inscription, Tailoring, and Tinkering exactly as they are. Why? Because once you GM a crafting skill, it's not *hard* to start a macro to make scrolls or pots overnight. Yes, it's long to train the skills, but it's not HARD in the sense that you as a player need to be skillful, clever, or good at a game to train them or to click a gump to make items.

I don't think it's a good idea to even make just Alchemy and Inscription easier because nobody should be self-sufficient unless they have put in TONS of time to train the skills. If everyone can train Alchemy and Inscription that's eliminating the roles other people like to perform (crafters).

Part 2 - Base Skills:

Anatomy, Evaluating Intelligence, Healing, Magery, Meditation, and Resisting Spells should be given at 100 or extremely easy to train. In addition to these, each player should be allowed to choose any 2 combats to get for free. This could be archery and swordsmanship, or archery and tactics, or fencing and parrying, etc. Any 2 combat skills.

Why should these be given or extremely easy to train? Because the majority of people currently playing IN:X or who will join IN:X are going to PvP and/or PvM. I don't think there are many people playing today that ONLY craft and never ever fight another player or monster, and I can't see someone joining a shard just to craft when it's already full of people with the craft skills trained and not making big profits off them (like others said, pots and even scrolls don't sell for much above cost price).

Like I said above, making Alchemy and Inscription easier eliminates the roles other people like to perform, but giving these base skills away doesn't take anything away from anyone.

This makes Anatomy, Evaluating Intelligence, Healing, Magery, Meditation, and Resisting Spells the base skills for just about every player who ever logs on to IN:X. So why force everyone to spend time training these skills when instead they could be given and players could instead enjoy IN:X for the shard it is from day 1 instead of spending 3-4 days training skills?

Personally, I don't want to install a game, let it run for 4 days waiting to train skills and then finally be able to play. With every other game I have ever played this is unheard of dating back to when I played on a console called Socrates.

I made a character from scratch not too long ago so I know how long it takes to train one. As my 3 starting skills I took Magery (90), Resisting Spells (100), and Healing (100). After that it took 24 hours to train anatomy, 26.4 hours to train evaluating intelligence, and 9.15 hours to train meditation, so ~60 hours total. But I hope you realize this didn't include getting money so I could finish training Magery using MA scrolls, or training ANY combats, or training skills like Detecting Hidden (22.5 hours), Hiding (2.45 hours), or Stealth (30 hours) which just about everyone uses but I don't consider base skills. Nor did my ~60 hours include Musicianship, Discordance, Peacemaking, or Provocation which are very very helpful in PvM.

Detecting Hidden, Hiding, Stealth, Musicianship, Discordance, Peacemaking, and Provocation should all be left as they are however since they make your life easier for you so you should have to work for them.

Part 3 - Gathering skills

The gathering skills like Mining, Lumberjacking, etc should be left as they are since you are mining to get ores anyways so who cares if it's long? If it took 3 hours to GM mining you'd still mine to get ores anyways. Yes, you'd be able to get higher ores sooner but on the bright side until you get to that point you can accumulate a lot of ores to sell or use to train skills.

Part 4 - Some other skills

All the skills I didn't cover above like Animal Taming, Fishing, etc I didn't talk about since I don't use them or I haven't trained them so I can't say how long they take to GM compared to the potential profits off them.

p!nk dr@g0n Wrote:Like Eighty Swords said, just give us all the pvp skills... The ones who want to pvp will be glad, and the ones who don't shouldn't mind getting some free skills...

Call them PvM & PvP skills. This way you avoid the bias opinions from those who don't like PvP Wink

Papa Smurf Wrote:This is how I feel about this: Chances are if you have been playing UO since day 1 and your still around then yes eventually you will leave because you are almost 30 years old like myself. As far as not being able to macro for 5 days to get these combats and magery to GM, that is simply lazyness or non commitment. I am a grown man and can leave my computer on for however long I want. I dont have my mommy telling me to shut it down. So if anyone will leave it will be the non commited 12 year olds who have mommy breathing down their neck. The skill gain in my oppinion is nothing less than perfect. I along with other players need that sense of accomplishment, not something handed to me. Thanks for listening.

By your own admission you might be quitting soon, and I completely understand why, but at the same time I have to ask why should IN:X cater to someone like you who might just quit soon, instead of the 12 year olds that will probably be around for a few years if we can give them reason enough to stay?

I'm not saying you're any less of a player because you might be quitting soon, nor am I saying you didn't contribute to this shard, I'm just saying we can't always make only what the 10 year UO vets want to see in the shard when this is the group of players that will probably be quitting slowly.

Tiesto Wrote:I dont get it......... we gave 3 skills : 2 at 100 and 1 at 90 for free......, we built and designed a Training camp especially for new starters so that they can macro their combats as fast as posible (It's been a complete sucesss and everyone knows it) people can macro all their combats in like 2-3 days.

Not every skill is given at 100 or 90 Tiesto... Take a look at the skill stone and you will see some skills are as low as 55! Obviously these are the harder to train ones but what you said is plain and simply wrong. You're assuming everyone will take 3 of the base pvp/pvm skills which isn't always the case. If I were to join IN:X knowing what I did after my time at XUO I would take Magery and Resisting Spells since these were some of the harder skills even on XUO, and as my third skill I would take a crafting skill to help me make money. And this is what I suggest to every new player whenever the topic of what to take comes up.

Tiesto Wrote:We gave a reward starting package when we went live.............. We designed and spawned SEVERALS new hunting/ride spots around the world..... seriosuly if you think hunting is hard i bet it is because you havent explored the world rather than destard or hytholoth, Theres tons of spots full of mobiles to kill and win easy and very good loot......... We have added severals Quest to do and win special and good items......The skillgain has been lowered and looked at like 2 or 3 times already since the shard began...

and you still complain it's to Hard?

The reward package was around for 2-3 days, it's not encouraging more people to come today, and I have to say I saw a lot of new faces while it was here.

As for the rest of what you said here, you're right these things will encourage people to stay, if thy can get past the point of thinking 'wow I'm still not done training anatomoy', 'wow I'm still not done training magery', etc.

Damn you are stupid sometimes. I'm not making any threats. Its a fact, if that gets changed I would stop playing. And by the way, some are considering leaving (not going to state the reasons) so dont talk about something you dont know.

Just read what people say. I'm not saying I would take players away dumbass, I'm just saying I know SOME that would leave for the same reasons I would.

Read and comment correctly of just stfu.

You get to choose 3 skills, so you can chose the ones that require resources to begin with. You can find macros in our forum section for lots of things, and if there isnt one you can always ask them and someone would post them.

And there are easy and hard spots. There are some dungeons I find extremely hard and I dont go hunt there. There are some accessible dungeons or open spaces to hunt.

Looks like you didnt read my post either.

I said None of these recent players left because of skill gain.

ANYONE can make a character in like 4 days now.. rdy to pvp. in 2 days to gank. to 1v1 about 4days since you need combats. you dont have to spend resources to get a pvp character ready anymore. that was the complain from people because it was hard to get without skills. now the skills that take resources you get gm and 90. healing gm resist gm magery 90. the rest can be done completely in the camp in pits

And plus they got transfers...

Im tired of saying this shard its like a job. You need lot of hours to have items and skills. You dont hear me or the others who said that so i suposse u wont change.
About that guy that is 30 years old and say he can leave the computer all day, did u ever think that maybe the others cant have the comp on all day or maybe they are not the only users of the comp so they can leave the game open all day? The most of you only look to them and doesnt look to new players or the rest.

Do u think i really give a **** for skillgain? i already have my skills so to me its not a problem if u dont make them easier. But as i said lot of people care about that and dont want to play a shard in wich one u must be online a lot of time to have something (maybe they dont have the time because they work or maybe they have some social life)

Maybe u will delete my post like u did lots of times but ill say it another time. You ****ed up lots of xuo players with the merge there is NOTHING to do in the server except killing monsters or rp (saying evil grins or laughts or some shit and no talk the rest of the time (omg what an awesome rp i dont comunicate with noone| the only one that i really saw rp was father juan)
At least in xuo people moved , talk with people, gank, go tourneys, pvm etc. Here the people dont do nothing. I connect and i only see the same people as allways moving (only a few and the most are spanish and we dont have gms in our timezone no tours nothing)

When u go out of beta there were some movement but it have been loosed why? because when people connect only macro macro macro and macro because the skills are ultra hard. and when some of that finish they look the world and see the same as me so they dont play regular or they just leave.
Dont forget about those who just with only seeing the skillgain dont try the server.

I really feel that u dont have in mind pvprs only rp or pvm u may say thats not true but is that i´ve seen in all my time in this server.

Sorry for my english

the shard will die because 90% of ppl are ****ing stupid...ppl saying they can make a guy is 4 days or wtv is ppl with money and know what there doing...u cant make a guy to hunt in 4 days.. there for any new player has nothing to do for more than a week.. and in that time there not going to play..

Any player that makes an acnt for the first time should get.. 50k.. a rune book with hunting places ... books explainin things and how to do things..1k arrows.. 3 elvens bows.. gm mage , gm resis . gm eval . gm anatomy . gm healing . all the bard skills at like 80.. atlest this way theyl b able to do something other than macro for a weeek.. like thats fkin dumb.. and all these ppl saying everything is fine is dumb and wel end up havin a 20 ppl server again..

Its more than just skillgain tho.. Gms need to start doing something.. and Taran needs to hire more ppl ... there should b a Gm On 24/7... Since Gms are Lazy we should get automated events at certin times in the day.. take away deathmath its fkin useles.. like add a prize to it...

Make other weapons good other than Bard... there like 20 other weapons no1 even considers

hunting is easy for some people but for the majority of ppl it isnt and anything thats really easy gives 20 gold n crap

Everyone needs to understand that you need stuff good for 90% of the server other than 10% that has all the gms skills and has 1mill or more...

MadMan Wrote:ANYONE can make a character in like 4 days now..

NO, you can't. Can people stop saying this? You can't have a char rdy for 1v1 in 4 days. You can't. One can't. Noone can. There's a huge difference between noone and anyone. It takes AT LEAST a week, assuming you macro pretty much 24/7.

Just like voodoo says, it's way too hard to get started. Not hard, WAAAY TOO hard.

I see more movement of staff in America's hours, and more movement of players in spanish's hours, spanish havent spanish gms because muto and tiesto not connect a lot of...
The rp is bad for interact with other players for the spanish players becuause we cant talk in spanish... I think that if we will talk in our languaje we can interact more with our friends...
I also think that the skills need are more easy, the server lost a lot of player because is very hard for a new player that play alone starting here and macroing some serious skill...
