A lot of people are leaving because getting started on here is way too time consuming. This is a 15 (?) year old game, that most of us play for fun... We don't have the same amount of time to put on it as we had 10 years ago.
The problem is that most of the people who have actually worked for the shit they have will probably shoot this down pretty quick, but here goes: make EVERYTHING easier. Monsters, skillgain, etc... I'm actually one of the ones who has put in the time needed to get started, and I don't care if someone who starts today gets the same shit I have in 1 day. I rather have 100 people getting shit for free, than 20 who has worked as hard as me for their shit.
A lot of people only want to get on every now and then to pvp, but they don't have the time to macro the skills they need nor hunt enough to afford the supplies they need.

What you're trying to do pink dragon is a good attempt, but I fear it won't get implemented. On several occasions there were a few of us asking for just the basic skills like healing, resisting spells, magery, meditation, some combats, etc to be given free and to leave the crafting skills as they are and the staff were unwilling to make this compromise.
I think this was a great suggestion since the skills we were asking for are the ones everyone would use, and the crafting skills would stay as they are making you earn it, which was the main reason staff didn't want to make anything easier, because they felt players would have no commitment to a shard where they're given everything free.

I agree, This is way to hard. and keeping it way to hard will onley lead to dissaster. for those few who do want it hard. im sorry but it's clearly obvious that last time nearly all the players where gone. and i think you and i know why. not becouse the wanted to leafe but they diddent liked the skillgain. so you still want tho be strickt with what you think now? ore do you want the shard to live

This is how I feel about this: Chances are if you have been playing UO since day 1 and your still around then yes eventually you will leave because you are almost 30 years old like myself. As far as not being able to macro for 5 days to get these combats and magery to GM, that is simply lazyness or non commitment. I am a grown man and can leave my computer on for however long I want. I dont have my mommy telling me to shut it down. So if anyone will leave it will be the non commited 12 year olds who have mommy breathing down their neck. The skill gain in my oppinion is nothing less than perfect. I along with other players need that sense of accomplishment, not something handed to me. Thanks for listening.

i dont thread skills like a work of art, and making the skillgain to hard and i made one gm, i can think onley on wtf i did to much efford, i wasted my time once again. but if it would be a bigger playerbase i dident mind. but you know i'm not doing all this work for a shard with a playerbase around the 50.

I dont get it......... we gave 3 skills : 2 at 100 and 1 at 90 for free......, we built and designed a Training camp especially for new starters so that they can macro their combats as fast as posible (It's been a complete sucesss and everyone knows it) people can macro all their combats in like 2-3 days.
We gave a reward starting package when we went live.............. We designed and spawned SEVERALS new hunting/ride spots around the world..... seriosuly if you think hunting is hard i bet it is because you havent explored the world rather than destard or hytholoth, Theres tons of spots full of mobiles to kill and win easy and very good loot......... We have added severals Quest to do and win special and good items......The skillgain has been lowered and looked at like 2 or 3 times already since the shard began...
and you still complain it's to Hard?

I specifically said that I've already done everything and didn't mind it. OTHER people are complaining it's too hard, and too many of them. It's those people who are the difference between 100+ average or 40 average (like now)...
Like Eighty Swords said, just give us all the pvp skills... The ones who want to pvp will be glad, and the ones who don't shouldn't mind getting some free skills...

Pink dragon , that sounds redicilous. i dident ment i want it all for free. just a little les efford would mind. man i tryd bs. ghotten so much ores and gained so less skill i tought yeah right. then i tried some differend skills like healing and anatomy i i tought yes this is good. but then i tried to gm my tinkering that i had 95.5 lol i was realy stunned by the difference in skillgain ratio that i quited that one also, now i think well last option to gain some stuff for pvp stealing other players bags or something. ghotten 7 days macroing. ghotten 71.9 stealing . Then i did complain at forums

Honestly, I'd try it! Server seems to be getting boring, spice stuff up a little bit. Make GMing alch inscription easier etc make it so basically everyone is pvp able and that mining stuff is easier. Make monsters drop more gold so duel stones get used more, just try it.

I just do not understand why everyone wants to be crafters. If you want to become a good PvPer you need to practice, if you want to be a good crafter you need to invest both time and money. Don't go for both if you really don't want both.
Crafting should be hard, so I don't think that is wrong here. About the loots I have no clue, but I have heard that hunting is a bit to hard. Funny thing is, crafters complain that prices are to low and non crafters complain they are to high.

I wasn't only talking about you. A lot of players have complained and some have already left, so some damage is already done. Something must be done before it's too late. I rather play on an unbalanced shard with 100 players than a balanced shard with 0 players. It seems like the staff around here want it the other way around... Players aren't satisfied, yet they don't listen because the changes people want are "making it too easy".

Listen, you can get your pvp skill in like 3 days. Crafting skills should take alot of work. I mean the economy is totally ****ed as it is, because some players trained the crafting skills to sell mana pots for the costing price almost, which is so stupid that I can't even scale it. Hunting is good, there are easy, medium, hard spots. If you think that the place where you are hunting is too hard, then find an easier one. You people dont realize that if hunting gets easier and crafting skills get even more easier...then what will be the game for us(pvmers/crafters)? You claim that people leave because its hard, I havent seen that. But let me say that, if hunting and crafting gets nerfed I would be the first to leave the shard, and alot more would come with me.
