It does though. Most our good dungeons are custom with no mark/gate allowed. Yet, recall is still allowed in 95% of locations, which makes it hell easy to PvMer to get away the way it is now. You can see the reds aproach most of times.. Not to mention that we have invis pots, recall scrolls, you can get safe in a blink of an eye right now... I dunno, at first I was all for removing that thingy, but now I reconsider it...
I might be pretty biased, but I myself don't PK(I do PvP but I don't go dungeons anymore, since INX i think) for ages, unless someone told me to go there, because otherwise it's pointless most of times. The fundamental aspect of UO is slowly fading - how often you really risk your items when you're outta hunting ? How often you lose them rather then loot it back?
IMO , if anyone is biased then it's people that say it's too easy to find\kill players with current status page... If they'd ever try and get into shoes of a guy who actually enjoys multiplayer, rather than chatting and killing mobs , they'd realize how much time it actually takes to find someone to kill, a hunter lets say. A hunter which can get away from you literally any time he wants. Well there are few exceptions, but I don't think anyone would argue that it's 10x easier to get away rather than preventing from that. And even if you succeed and kill the guy it most likely wouldn't even repay for the supplies you spent to find him...
I dunno... I mean right now you could prolly show coordinates of each and every player and it still wouldn't change much. Carry invis pots and recall scrolls with ya and you will be guruanteed to get away..
