I think they started binding to the bank towards the end because the GMs got tired of people complaining they lost theirs. For the most of IN they didn't bind tubs to the bank. I know mine wasn't. I think binding to the character is a good compromise though. People get to do what they wish with their tubs, but they can't give them away. I do wish we could have guild dye tub rooms though.
A problem that arises with binding tubs is that two people can't each contribute to buying a random tub. Because only one person will have access to it. I think tailoring rewards should be bound to character but tubs bought from the vendor which are random should allow anyone to dye from it.
I think a cool idea might be to have a group start up a dye shop where you pay to go inside and they allow you to dye one thing from their collection of tubs. Or maybe have a membership where you pay a one time fee to get access. It'd probably be really expensive to start up and the price would have to be expensive to make up for it. I think that'd be neat though.
