Silverwolf Wrote:1. seriously new active staff is needed, or just exsisting ones to play more on their staff than their mortals, and so on...
2. its just an idea, and im not trying to tell staff how to do their job, but tryin to give advice if you dont know how to solve whats going on... we know staff dont get paid to be there, but neither do the players...
3. so if you take the role of a staff player, live up to it because its sad to see player base drop like this within 2 weeks. the crashes are part of it and mainly lack of active staff
4. PS:// on a side note, Like Kitiara said, people need help when their new... we need some sort of popup, or book, or something. to give a quick intro to people who JUST login... telling them quickly where to hunt, main towns, which three skills to choose if their PVMERS or PVPERs, stuff like that... new commers seem really lost and dont know how to get started.
1. Absolutely agreed. Having active staff answering pages and holding tournies/events (even if they aren't reward related) is a big step forward.
2. Nope, you're exactly right. Totally volunteer. But does that mean that current staff shouldn't be required and expected to be active daily? Absolutely not. If I were a GM, I'd be on early and often, making sure the needs (no matter how trivial) of the players were met. There's no reason why there should be this much discord among players and so much reticence on the staff's part to get in and fix these things.
3. The drop in playerbase IS linked to the fact that there haven't been as many GMs on to answer pages. I have had pages sit for days recently... this is deplorable. Are there not active staffers or players that could be active staffers to fix these problems? The shard crashing is a separate issue, but of even more import. Why is a new person going to want to hunt his/her brains out for a chunk of a day off only to have their progress lost to a crash/time warp? These issues need to be fixed; the players' faith in the shard's stability is waning.
4. It's common knowledge if you read the forums that there is a newbie dungeon and other ways to get things. It should be on the players to ensure that new people are "geared up" and know where to start. Perhaps a message could come up every time a new account logs in directing them to the forums (or a particular section/link in the forums) and remain until day 7 or so.
