House decay... something I personally wanted from day 1.
Lets look at this from the pros and cons...
Pros
It makes players log in more often
If players dont log in it eventually, reduces item count
It supports the fact that we aren't carebear
It would show we care more about existing players then ones that bailed
It keeps the environment changing, people will venture out more
House decay was a sphere feature
Cons
People who bailed on us for over 3 months would be upset if they came back.
Okay not to be a jerk but thats the only con I can think of. Honestly, we can even extend decay time for people are going away or request so, an additional 3 months would be fine. If they don't log in once in a half of year well... chances are they just won't ever log in.
Truth be told, as players come and go this will be needed anyway, the house count only goes up every single day. Players come, buy a house either decide to stay or split and that eats up more space.
We definitely need this, though it might be better saved for when we leave beta.
