This server, unlike 95% of the shards out there has real value in skills because they take some time to do.

While I agree with you on this it is still very long to do, especially like you say 2 sentences later; for someone starting with nothing. Maybe I'm having a very hard time adjusting because I've been spoiled with what I found to be good skill gains on XUO.

What about all of the players that started with nothing and worked hard for months to GM skills?

Very true, and as I said sometimes changes are for the better, even if it makes it 'unfair' to those who already did something the hard way. Although this point isn't very valid coming from you since you had VERY good crafting transfers from INR. I think it was something like 60-70%? XUO players got 40% on crafts, which you can almost buy up to from NPCs for a few hundred gold.

You don't HAVE to GM all the skills in 6 months. I did all my own resource gathering and wrote efficient macros and had the majority of my skills GMed in 2 months. All you need to do is AFK macro while you sleep.

True, but I'm very stubborn and once I start something I'm determined to finish it AFK macro over night isn't really an option for me considering I've waken up dead after macroing for a night in brit by NPCs...

I'm absolutely against the idea

Well we are 2 years later so you have all the hard work done and want to hold on to your little portion of the monopoly as tightly as you can, hence why you are so strongly against this change, like I'm for it because this change would favor me and other returning players who weren't around for long and new players.

Rabbi I'd like to see you and other old INR players who got good transfers start a character from scratch without help from any other players or your other characters and tell me how fun it is when you macro night in and night out...

Can someone please restrict Eighty Swords from making threads?
