I used to use blade spirits alot so I could hunt bigger monsters by myself. Id stand back and shoot whatever it was, while the monster fought the blade spirit. It would usually take several blade spirits to kill something, but it was fun and allowed me to gain money faster. I used to do the same thing with EVs and dragons, and I remember even with me doing at least half the damage, Id go through 2-3 EVs before the dragon fell.
