Injection needs to go. It's not pvp, it's who can make the better script.

Anhelios Wrote:http://www.gamesites200.com/ultimaonline/ Looking here I found quite a few who don't use anything like it. One out of 7 I looked at used UOassist, which I heard mentioned on here. Went looking a bit on forums for the ones I didn't immediately find and found a total of 3 of those 7 that used something in that fashion. (Had to google some since I wasn't familiar with the names of the programs.)

So its not never, nor is it rare. Some shards stick to what the game really is and are active. So with this post, I think I'll leave you all to do as you'd like and wish you all the best of luck.

I don't think staff can enforce injection being restricted... It's very hard to detect it. Some software does, but I doubt server itself can.. So you'll never know.

And most of people don't agree that UO is about backpack organizing and double cliclikng bandages
\scrolls\searching for rune in pack... Only UO is the game out there with options that practically aren't options at all. I think that the creators just didn't think of which hotkeys would be useful, because this game was one of the very first MMORPGs, and it was pretty hard to forsee what players would need the most.. Then UO assist came out and we had to pay for it, then Yoko saved the day and released free version of UO assist, which ended up being much better ;p

This. ^ The only way we'd know is if someone admitted it.

If you think that Injection has an advantage, use it. We won't be disallowing it for that reason though.

There was a way to "bypass of the run lag" as you put it. It wasn't with running a straight line though. It was a 3rd party client called Krrios client and it could bypass turning restrictions. As you might know, you have a slight delay when you run and change direction. That's the delay that Krrios client could bypass. Injection has no such functionality. Injection does work a lot smoother than razor though so it usually lags you less.

I've seen many auto-looting, cutting, explosion, wall blocking and other scripts around. All of these scripts are done better in injection than in razor. Even then, injection is not the most "evil" of the three (Razor, Injection, EUO). I won't go into details why EUO is evil but all I can say is that it's very powerful. Not on it's own (Injection can do most of the same stuff), but combined with certain things it's a very powerful automation tool.

I'd say you have a point saying automation is bad for the game. In my opinion, it is. All these 3rd party programs were supposed to extend the functionality of badly made client but it got out of hand and now they do so much more. However, you just have to accept it as it is. There is no way of blocking injection or EUO completely. If you know how to do some of the more advanced scripts and you know how the 3rd party programs operate, you can most likely find a way around any method they can think of to block those 3rd party programs. It's usually never a question if it can be done. It's just a question of how long it takes to get around it.

Forcing the latest client version or a custom client version is probably sufficient. But there are always a few gifted people around who can get around it. However, our playerbase is not so huge that it will be filled with techies.

My personal feeling is that if everyone was on razor it would probably be better for the game, but it would have to be everyone, otherwise it's like handicapping most of the players and letting a few run riot with their powerful tools.

That said I'm not so worried about EUO, it can do a lot but it has a poor line reading rate and so it is not that responsive for PvP, I've played before using a EUO setup for certain hotkeys and it was kinda slow to react sometimes. Like Cana said though, combine it with other programs (like Inj) and there are a lot of crazy, probably unsporting things you can do.

There's also some common knowledge that you need to know to use these tools correctly , and obviously , the people who knows how to pvp knows how to use injection.

I'd suggest you guys to release guides and tips for injection asap , Maybe you could ask those OH AWESOME pvpers to write these guides. ( instead of using that knowledge to crush / kill everyone existing without any kind of fair fights )

else you will never see anyone else catch up , they will just quit instead.

Or maybe people who feels that current guides aren't detailed enough could remake them themselves? Theres enough info on these forums, need to gather it all in same thread. Anyone who thinks it is important should feel free to do so. I mean, initiative gets advantage of initiator and so on.

I am a razor only type of person. Thats my story and im sticking to it. Down with all the other tools!!!! ( I still do the old click and point style as well in pvp / pvm. I like to play UO like it was 15 years ago )

I can make any script to you Smile 10k per line.

So you are asking someone who know nothing about injection to write up guides about how to use it properly in pvp for new players ?

Hmmm yes i guess that's what you meant. Im sorry but that makes no sense to me. I dont think im in a position to write any guide , but you on the contrary , seems to know alot more than everyone about pvp and how to be good at it , and you brag alot about it yet you keep everything you use secret , to keep an edge over other players.

Personally i care about the server itself and would like everybody to be on the same level than me , to have fair fights and also tons of opponents, but i guess that you prefer to pvp in your empty world , dominating your little universe. Rolleyes So unless you release this information to the public , good luck with raising the number of active players.

Have you even tried to look through some of his guides?

He has provided a lot of very helpful scripts and tips for injection. Maybe you should explore the Player Guides sections a little more before wasting everyone's time.

Pfft, screw it. Here is a list I came up with in about 30 seconds:

The programs do give the upper hand to players that have time to spend crafting their skill in code or what ever it takes to make it work. As a weekend / random nights during the week type of player I for one dont have the time to sit and figure out whats what to make my self on a level playing field in pvp.

Yes , i actually checked ALL the players guides in there , and what you showed me here are scripts to macro some X skills , it's not about how to use injection properly in pvp. *shrugs* Everybody can use Razor to macro skills for the same result anyway , unlike in PVP where injection clearly gives an advantage , and i see no guides for that.
