Ya XoD I agree that there should be a [young] system where noobies can't be looted/cut until they reach a certain gametime, like 7 days or something. I've seen it on a lot of other shards and it works pretty well. As far as attracting more players to this server, I started a thread called "some suggestions" with ideas to intrigue the old school hardcore UO players. I would LOVE to see what other people think we could do to raise the player count here. Number one priority needs to be appealing to the hardcore UO players. We need to find a way to not only attract but hold onto serious PvP'ers because as of now there is really nothing to keep fighters occupied.

I keep saying that the Casino would be the perfect safe area, but then again, there's no easy way to get there, really. I think I'll make some changes to that once I get back from Thailand. Tongue

1) Add timed teleporters to various banks and other locations that will let you teleport to the Casino. This makes sense because a real casino would try do to all that it could to let people come there and spend money.

2) Add a person that sells waystones at reduced prices, maybe add it to the rares vendor. That way you can use a waystone to teleport back to the casino at any time without having to pay the normal 5K for the stone from a banker. This make sense for the same reason as #1

3) Add a paid teleporter to go to any town or place where there's a gate to the Casino. Maybe 100-500g for a teleport. This adds another way to explore and find some of the more common landmarks and should help out new players who may not normally be able to see the whole world easily or get to islands.

4) Add some decoration and fun things to the casino that will help make it more fun to be at. Maybe even add a chess board to the left of it so people can play Battle Chess. Or actually, there's a second floor of the casino that's normally not accessible that would be perfect for that. Tongue

That way there's a pits-like area, but it's not just used for standing around or waiting for tournaments. It will increase player interaction, but sill makes sense from an RP perspective. Thoughts?

Crow's Nest needs more of a purpose as well. Sad to see such an Iconic place go to waste Sad There runes there but many people rather go to the rune library in brit

Eru, that's cool things! I also want to suggest you make something like XUO-style pits: safe place with teleporters to few red and blue cities (e.g. Brit, Minoc, Acclo, Buc. Den), with bank and provis. stones etc. All tours. gates should opens there. Also we need timed teleporters (like exit from Mercenary Camp) to pits in every city and near every dung. and other pleaces. Or maybe jusr create paid travel stone like it was on the old sphere shards? With all cities and dungs. on the world map ans fee something like 200gp for cities and 500gp for dung?

IMO Casino is not best choice , mainly because it's right beside Britain. Why would someone from Brit use a teleporter to get in there? I I'd vote for some area that wud be built somewhere at the north side of felucca for example... Like near wrong-ice dungeon or something. I agree about the timed teleporters to this spot, also about the fee. I'd say charge PK's twice the price, players with not GM Magery, Tactics or Healing - 1/2 of price or 1/4 of price that PK pais. Also, the important thingy.. In order to make this place serve it's purpose (help people interract with eachother more) it should have portals inside. I'd vote for 1 blue, 1 red and one "gray" spot. Such as One Stop Shop or Britain bridge. Or even Minoc bridge.

Although, if you think about it I don't think PK's should pay twice the price ... Since theres not much of them the way it is, and I'd say we should encourage people being red... Guards penalty is enough I think, theres not too many reds the way it is now...

Edit: Just've read XoD message, and I'm kinda against having bank inside, but since people now have the banks at houses - who cares.. Though the travel stone wouldn't serve the action-promoting purpose. You dont' see where person has gone, so what the point. The Pits thingy was that you couldn't exit it without risking dying (if you're red/aligned that is) So I say - people should always be able to see where you've gone. Plus, the rune libraries wouldn't be used at all.. I kinda understand the travel stone purpose on big sphere servers, even now days (theres few of them xd) but, sadly , this server ain't any big ...

With all these ideas keep in mind i doubt they want to circumvent recall and gate travels. Even if there to not as significant places
