My only problem with statics vs regular houses is the following:

Early on in the life of the shard, a few players get rich from their hard work and decide to buy up 5 statics, but only really use 1. Since all 5 houses this person owns though are statics, they don't have to be refreshed and 3 or 4 of them go unused for all of time.

A little later on in the life of the shard, when some players get rich from their hard work, there won't be any nice statics left since people are allowed to buy an unlimited amount of them. So these players that join later on in the shard have to make regular houses, but only 2 of them won't decay.

Now you could tell me well it's the persons fault for not joining the shard the day it opened, and you're right, but at the same time you still need to be able to offer people a reason to work hard and accumulate money. You can't do that when something major like a nice static house is no longer available.

This is why I think it would be more fair to tell everyone you're only allowed 1-2 statics, which won't decay, and if you feel you need more houses then that make them regular ones out in the world, which can decay, since you already have 2 houses. Players who currently own more then 2 statics would be told to pick which 2 they want to keep and reimbursed for the others.

As for houses decaying, I think all objects in the house should be banked and the owner re-imbursed for the value of the house. It's like the player went bankrupt and is selling off all his possessions to pay off his debts. Yes, you do have the problem of who owns what, but if players are honest they'll return their friends stuff. If they're not, well it's your fault for putting your stuff in the house of someone you don't know very well, and they could have blocked you from the house at any point anyways. And the house does refresh whenever someone goes in so if the person of the house hasn't logged in to refresh it but you have, it won't decay. If all the people who own a house don't bother to log in that's their fault.

Well when I pvp, irl of course, I normally don't have to wait so long for my mana to regen?!!1!

This arguement was never intended, nor probably ever imagined to be, compared to real life. Your points and arguments have always been, and will always be a joke.

It is situations like these, that when I made my suggestion for a wipe I knew could be avoided. Bottom line, These 2 shards merged and people were promised/allowed things during that time and everyone joining now is just going to have to get used to it. I neither own a static or have any vested interest in the pvp here but if people are going to lose their statics they earned legally then pvp should change and vice versa. And that won't happen so there should be no more discussion on previous arrangements nor should there be the argument about people who want to purchase statics now but want one someone already has. Should of been here 3 years ago.

What could be done is emails sent out to people who have inactive accounts and static houses asking if they would be so kind as to return and play or their house could/would be auctioned off and their items and money for static auction would be placed in their bank. That's fair.

If it can be done its the best idea here.

Um u guys got your super hard skillgain so don't complain about the pvp when u got your statics and skillgain.

That would be a good solution

Not anymore we don't. Some players complained and complained until it was made easier then complained more and got it made easier again then complained a bit more and got the skill stone. God how I would love to have IN skill gain here but compromises were made regardless of what was promised. Now we sit here with hypocritical people who want changes made again regardless of what was promised but refuse to allow changes to what they were promised. I think it is fair to say that this shouldn't be compromised when other things can't be compromised as well. Not to speak for Taran but maybe this is why he wanted it this way.

While I still back that all housing should have a decay system, statics included, it isn't right to some players who were promised that they would get to keep their statics when the shards merged. If there had been some stimulation at the time of the merge that stated they needed to do something in order to maintain ownership it would be a different story but that isn't the case. Which is why I said having a rule for future statics may be a better call.

There are only like 2 statics that are owned but not used anyway, well 2 that I can think of that someone may be interested in. Its not like this is something that is altering game play.

LudaKrishna Wrote:rabbi there's a lot of people that have money and stop thinking everything that invovles alot of money is targeting you.

Name someone else this would dramatically affect xD

Regardless, like Shade said, there are few unused owned statics out there. And there are even more that are unused and unowned, so why don't you go bid on those?

Earning heaps of cash to be able to buy statics isn't easy. That's why they cost 3-4.5k at a MINIMUM in the first place. It's not fair to people that join 10 years down the line? Stop focusing on those that haven't been on a while and start focusing on those who have put loads of time into IN:X. If someone wants a static, they should work hard for it and earn it, not snipe and whine when the one they want isn't there.

I recommend banning Prototype from Serps Hold until this has passed as it has apparently frustrated them that "all the good ones" are taken :/. In the military we call that a no-contact order Big Grin

and yea, this skillgain even for crafts is a cakewalk. You could never craft iron daggers out of random colored ingots or GM bowcraft making 20k bolts. Maybe this will start us down the path of making skills more like IN skillgain?
#36

If the tax goes in my bank then yes. Otherwise, I think it's a pretty useless and crappy idea. Maybe they should eventually free unused statics though.
