Reyn Wrote:If i chose magic resist itd be a huge waste as its alot quicker to gm resist than EVAL INT or TACTICS, thx for your opinion allbeit very misguided, I wonder what you consider a pvp ready character. One who's flamestrike scrolls hit for 20dmg?

eval int is done in half a day. You do tactics along with another combat skill.

Why I would pick magic resist, magery and healing is that you need resources for it. And if you haven't noticed it yet, it is pretty hard to get enough gold with a starting character.

Gold isnt the problem, its wankers like you telling me it takes half a day to GM Eval Int, when it really takes almost 3 fkn days.

Optimize skill gain? So tell me then you dirty spatch****, Whats wrong with my macro? The only way I can "Optimize Skillgain" is become admin, change skillgain to a healthy rate, atleast long enough for my playerbase to grow to a HEALTHY number and for an actual economy to commence, this shard is worst than an inbred town of Amish settlers.

Calm down.
The difference between 1.3s and 1.0s is large. Its a difference of 23%! Now, if you do the math, youll see that it is quite a large difference as you've already been told!

I dont feel i need to say more!
Oh yea..

Its summer time and holidays are coming, so its normal. People go to the beach or pool instead of staying closed in the house playing Ultima..

The weather is real amazing at this point, apparantly where most of us live, actually in most of Europe last time I checked. It's been between 23-28 degrees and sun outside for almost every day for like two weeks now, it's almost "too hot" to be inside, I'm about to go buy some air conditioner soon just to be able to be inside a little while during the day when I'm off work.

It's not hard to figure out why the client count may not be as high as it used to be considering that it's probably this hot where most of you live, and then the first thing coming to mind isn't "lets sweat and play UO!", at least not to my mind. I heard some rumors that the weather would get colder soon once again tho, so then I think the player count will raise a lot, so if you really want to play IN-X when it's this hot (or if it isn't this hot where you live) - do it - you have time to macro now and get your character ready, and you have all the hunt spots to yourself, and once the rest of the players return you'll be ready to kick some serious ass!

About the skillgain:
I can see why players from the XUO side of the merge would complain, cause they want everything to be GMed 5 seconds after they started macroing, I know, I'm one of them. But fact is that if they would realize HOW MUCH we've actually increased the skillgain to satisfy us XUO players I think they would stop complaining. At first it took a lot just to compromize enough to get it a lil faster, and after a lot of discussions we've actually made it a lot faster, heck some skills aren't even much slower than they were at XUO anymore. If you know how to set your macros good then you can get ready to PK and PvP in no-time, the players saying this isn't trying to "lure you", they're trying to help you figure out how to set your macros in a better way and speed your skillgain up, so listen to them and see what they can tell you, because it'll help you get ready to gank and pvp, and that's what you want, right? There is plenty of time to get enemies, but my suggestion is that you wait until you have your character ready before you start making them, because it serves no purpose to have a lot of enemies when you don't even have a character able to kill them with.

Hate

No skillgain is ridiculous. Especially for XUO players because they come from a BALANCED server.

They listen but they dont care as theyre established and inbred, id like to see them make a new char and not be able to macro 24/7.

Reyn take a look at this thread I made a few months ago about training skills.

Personally, I would take Magery, Resisting Spells, and Tactics or Archery from the skill stone. Finish training Magery and Resisting spells by casting Magic Arrow on yourself. You can get 1k scrolls for like 5k gp in the vendor mall. Not too expensive. Even as a noob hunting monsters in noobie dungeon you can probably get 5k in about 30 minutes or 1 hour.

Next I would train Anatomy and Evaluating Intelligence since they don't require ANY resources and Meditation only requires 1 NOS FS scroll. Once you train these you're left with Archery or Tactics depending which you took from the stone, Parrying, Swordsmanship, and Healing. To train Parrying and Swordsmanship you need to find a partner and buy maybe 20 hunting knives (about 10 gp each) and 20 shields (wood shields are about 20gp). Set up the macro in my other link and you're good to go.

Healing needs 1 XUO FS scroll and 50 bandages and a place to wash them. That's not very many resources and I'm sure someone will be willing to give you a few XUO FS scrolls for free, and you start with a reg bag that has 50 bandages. That's why I say to not to take healing like Yankovic suggests. It's a personal difference I guess.

Once you get the few items I mentioned all you need is time. As far as I'm concerned if you do it this way it's not very expensive to train your character, it just takes a lot of time.
