As I tried to point out to Hate in another thread, maybe the problem lies in the nature of this ''agreement'' which teorically makes up the essence of the shard: XUO's pvp and IN's...uhm, stuff.
I've played in IN for quite a bit and let me tell ya, the feel of the world and monster/treasure hunting is nothing like it was back then. I'm not saying it's pure crap the way it is now, but mentioning that damn ''agreement'' to state that IN got their end of the deal so XUO should keep their PVP is a disonest argument, cuz:
a) There's barely any elements from IN in the current world.
b) Saying that we got our RP is just nonsense, since RP is basically a player-driven effort with ocasional event support from the staff.
As Silverwolf stated, we NEED diversity. Not having crap to aim for is no fun at all.
The agreement does not say that we can't change the PvM, the hunting, the loots, the treasurehunting, or ANYTHING else that is "world-based". As long as the former IN-staffmembers does not think it goes too far away from the IN roots you can suggest lots of changes for the world, because that we CAN DO, and we WANT to do that. You ARE suppose to get your end of the agreement with that world and everything, whatever that is NOT like that is going to be CHANGED for the better, and all your suggestions will help us do that even better.
We are even willing to change the PvP if that is what players want, just not in DRASTIC ways since it has to stay true to the XUO nature, but hey, we have never been against balancing it, just not adding fizzle on hit, damage reducement on armors, or anything else that is something that would make the PvP "none XUO-ish" and there by fuc-king up the agreement.
We will balance IN-X and make all weapons more useful. We will take all your suggestions regarding balancement of the world to heart and probably even fix it if the admins would want that, but I see no harm in that since that is only for the good of the shard, and it would not "ruin the shard" in any way if you ask me.
I don't understand why some of you have managed to missunderstand me in such ways that you think that only because we can not change the PvP in drastic ways we won't change anything at all at IN-X? The world is far from flawless. The loots are far from perfect. The craftings can also use adjustments and so can most other things you mentioned.
Slaquer Wrote:For PVP I think it just needs a few minor tweaks that many people on the forums seem to bring up.
What they have "brought up" as suggestions is for us to make it so that armors reduce damage on hit, and so that you fizzle spells while being hit by a weapon or another spell. That is stuff that we are unable to do, and stuff that would screw up the PvP, not "minor changes". We are willing to adjust the PvP in minor ways without going too far away from the XUO roots, and we will try to do that, just not in major ways like these people suggested.
Galens Wrote:The post about us INer's getting the better end of the deal, being bullshit, he's right. All we inherited was land to run around on. The monster system is totally weak. The fighting AI is incredibly bullshit, along with their drop ratio. Who ever thought you could get a weapon of hardening or fortification from medium level (based monster according to INX, not IN) monsters such as daemon knight, or barney. What, 3 ev's? Not even that much 1 daemon, 1 ev, hundred arrows, its over. No strategy involved anymore for monster hunting. The decoration items are even worst aswell. Fishing consists of nearly 1/4th or 1/3rd of the deco in this game. To my knowledge, nearly half the craftable decorations have been taken away from the scripts aswell. This includes stone and marble.
For rper's, its mostly deco and hunting, deco including crafting skills.
So what did we get, other than children to run their asses instead of their mouths?
Slaquer Wrote:I think we should add some craftables that vary from very easy to get to very hard to get with damage going the same way. I also think the skill gain does need to be lowered, I was all against it before but I realised no one plays this game to macro anymore, they play it to play, no one wants to spend more then a week or so to PVP. Keep crafts the same, make PVP skills faster etc...I think we all need to agree on what NEEDS to be changed and then go from there.
happy holidays
I've been hoping that you guys would bring up stuff like that, stuff that we CAN CHANGE to make the shard better. Instead most of you have focused on what we can not change, and trying to change the agreement. Thanks for finally looking at what we can change and try to change that, because THAT is how we will make IN-X even better than it is today.
