Economy issues
#37

my solutions

-add spells that affect armor base of a player
-ease up the cash flow by making crafts earn more/making hunting earn more. Noone has cash atm except the people who mine/hunt ALOT.

i think the shards concentrating on making things to hard. Happened on INR... i macroed 24/7, mined 24/7 and by the time i had skills/money/items(not much though) INR had gone from 200 to 40 online.

so i think the main thing is keep the skillgain but increase the amount of gold.
#38

People will earn money! If they have to mine hunt or craft 24/7 they will! Like wold said don't make it harder to earn money make it more fun and enjoyable to earn the money.

Such as
-Make new craftables like Valas said! Wheres all these custom weapons?!?
-Make hunting more enjoyable through rewards for harder fights?

People don't want to spend all there time earning gold! People want to earn gold so they can buy things to beable to have fun!

And if the playerbase is dropping its not all about people hating the economy half the people don't even know what an economy is

I know aswell that alot of people have left because of the lag issues and alot more will leave because of them. Maybe also working on that issue! hehe

Keep IN:R history alive and bring back the Turtle Pond

Taran Wrote:I have already stated several times that we are going to change so GM crafted items sell for more. But we're kinda short on devs atm

Taran i'm pretty sure you dont need a dev to change it. I havnt looked at runuo scripts but as a programmer I'm guessing there is a script that has something along the lines of
item = bardiche;
npcsell = 100;
or a sell price file that has like bardchie = 100. Just find the number and change it.

I've just got to ask this, because every time I see a post about the economy and people start griping about the skill transfers I ask myself this same damned question. Please tell me...

HOW are new players coming onto the shard now, with people who've had transfers (and some of those transfers only having been a boost btw, not everyone had GM every-bloody-thing tansferred) and had a little foot in the gold pot already....ANY DIFFERENT than new players coming to a shard that's been up for a year or so with players (most likely the majority of them) who are dominating the economy then as well, having GMed such skills and what not.

I honestly can't see the difference. Maybe I'm just ignorant of a few facts, but I don't see how the two situations are any different. Starting new on an old shard is just as difficult as starting here new the way I see it. NO ONE rules the economy yet, because no one wants to spend money. No one wants to spend money, because gold is a pain in the arse to get. That's why the economy's hurting. Joe Schmoe having a castle doesn't hurt the economy, however he worked to get it. People not having the leisure time to get the money to compete doesn't really hurt the economy either. Yeah it makes the game more of a pain in the ass for people who don't have as much time as others, but that's life. That's like people who can work a full time job make more money than people who can only work part time jobs. I dunno, I'm tired and aggrivated. Anyway, the original point is...I don't see the difference in the two situations. Point it out to me if you do.

Oh, and I agree with Wolds post.

Kitiara Wrote:I dont really think u know so much about pvp... u also need weapons in pvp just try to kill me with spells, or try to kill someone in pits with scrolls and without a weapon lol, impossible? if u have seen some pvp, nice pvp they always use weapons.. so what can i tell to u?

2º There is no economy now on the server so why i have to spent 50k in a armor? most part of the server is new people, if they dont have any income, dont think that they are gonna spend all in armors.
Its difficult to earn money so just dont try to people spend a lot, thats impossible. Are u a veteran player? dont get mad if i ask that but it seems me that.

3º Your solution about wearing nice armors its quite ilogical, just because not so much people here plays 24/7 hours a day for spent so much money in armors, do u want that no one will pvp? because too much people when they will see someone attacking him, and if he is wearing a nice armor he will ran so it will be worse, ur solution than the illness.

3º ur only solution is about mining and smithing. thats completely sad, for me and all the post that i ve read about u, probably im wrong but i have only see u saying things to be harder the game, as u like that the game is hard not looking the nice things for everyone.
I know plenty about the PvP, all peopel are wearing when fighting right now is normal platemail, defence and some time a few pieces of low level collored armor parts. But there is nothing fancy about it. Why should they wear a armor that cost more than 1-2k, there are abseloutely no reason, since the PvP mostely is great gang bangs. where 2-3 players on each side just shoots out FS's on each other, then it's just as good to come along to those fights naked, which many does so they don't lose to much.
Sure there is a economy for good armors for tourneys where you are 1vs1 but it's a one time investment. It's not like your gonna lose that.
But make a reason to wear armors in PvP even if there are 2-3 players on each side shooting spells at you, and there will be a market for armors.

Aye it's true i like the skills to be hard to train. i have already GM'ed 12 skills since the shard opend. it's easy and i have no clue what i shall train in a months time, when i have GM;'ed all the skills that i need.

Need pots or stangs drop me a PM, i got it all.

and yes make it easier to begin for the newbies cos i got plenty friends that gave up playing bcause its too hard for them even to macro magery with no money and money aint easy to get for newbies :/
#45

mmm i think the only thing that needs tweaking is how much you earn and what can be crafted(special weaps). We just need more money circulating.

More money=more trading=more playing

Oh, and I agree with Wolds post.

a shard thats been open for a year or so has usually reached it's peak
new players come in small supply "usually" the difference here is everyone actually started at the same time, i have to take a guess but i imagine that there were about 100 transfers skill/gold mabye im wrong
so i assume that atleast 75 newbs came with nothing

prices here are high the rich are selling to eachother very little imo
and the newb with no skills just aren't buying there trying to macro and get the skills that you need to make the big bucks

in short your kinda right the only thing is with a old shard with few new players the ecomomy will already be moving so the economy looks good
the economy here looks bad because of the ratio vet/newb
i believe it'll balance out and this really isn't the big deal it's made out to be

Thats gank pvp, it has been as that all sphere life so dont try to change it, u can go with adamantium platemail that me and other 2vs 1 we will gank u and kill u, so why do u want us to spent 100k in a armor and then lose it in 5 minutes? 1º i repeat There isn't so much money to spend so its stupid to spend all the money, i told u, if i have 1 million i dont mind to spend 500k easyly or 100k in an armor i dont mind. the problem is that u dont earn so much money.

2º Ya i also have 11 gms or plus 24/7 days macroing wow, i suppose u like dummies macroer servers instead of active players.

3º which gms are ? anatomy? eval int? wow nice skills Lol.

4º i didnt said to present the skills. but not also making them very hard, that means that a lot of people would dislike it and go. this is an old game, which the people who plays haver normally 20-22+ years which arent gonna spent their lifes as when we were childs to playing all the time...probably u dont have a life i dont know, but most people have it.

5ºare u a veteran? that was a nice question i wanted to know lol not for flame or saying bad things, just for knowing more info about you, and how u think. thx

6ºYou only look for yourself instead for the server. you want harder things when most part of the server, almost in forums say to put them a lil easier. and u dont give any solution to the problems. that we mention here.

see u

Uo is fun, but not fun enough to care this much.. server is up.. just go play, gms great job on getting together, but really don't need to make everything perfect for these people.. just go play damn it..

Who cares about every single economic deal.. it will even out eventually, if you hate it so much go play World of warcraft or something.. this game isn't worth this much effort..

Everyones like "IM TO BUSY to DO anything" so they complain for a thousand changes to make their life easier. I say, JUST play and GM's just leave afk macroing be.
