Um please explain lol? So far I've spent 340k and I'm only up to 90% in tailoring, how did you come to this figure? (not trying to start an argument I honestly want to know where the hell I've gone wrong...)

gather cloth instead of spending gold on it...easily get 5k cloth a day just from fields in game

Even Alchemy doesn't make money these days. You can only sell greater mana potions for 230-250. The materials cost 126, isn't a 100% chance (is close) and it takes 20 seconds to craft. So you can make 180 per hour at a maximum of 125 profit per which is 22.5k (less with vendor fees). That's not realistic either because it assumes 15gp materials (vendor bought not casino bought) and 100% success rate with a free vendor. It's more like 15k per hour.

The counter argument is of course you can do this with a macro, so it shouldn't be as profitable as hunting, but it's scarcely worth making a potion when you net about 75 gold per. Thats 225 per minute at GM alchemy. No other potions really sell except a few shrinks and a few invis.

I like removing the mass reg vendors even though it will mean more work. It should actually increase potion prices since the opportunity cost of making a potion will go up since it takes longer.

As an aside, a flooded market should bring costs down (and it has) which means people should be more likely to use armor instead of running naked. Old copper and shadow are about 40 AR @ 3k gold? That's one monster kill, so there is really no reason not to wear at least the minimum armor. That should increase the demand for lower armors. Higher armors are trickier.

The more I think about unguarded mines, the more I like it. It should help some people migrate more towards Order in my opinion. The reasoning would be the Order guilds could guard the mines because the Chaos guilds would definitely go there and kill the miners constantly. I know I would have a field day in Kendall if there were no guards. But I think that increased activity would bring lots of "world" pvp which is also good for the economy. Losing more stuff means you need to buy more stuff (though this is zero sum because the killer gets the stuff..).

This is off topic I think, but relevant to the economy. It would be tough initially since the amount of ore would plummet until the miners got some guards (or started using different mines).

Considering I burn through 15-20k a day and it's taken a week and a half to get to a little over 90... I would rather spend gold then spend more time gathering cloth instead on gaining tailoring skill and not have enough cloth to even last the day let alone overnight.

I'm about to go to bed so I don't want to write replies to every point here (though there are a lot of good ones, please don't feel I am ignoring you) but I just thought I'd mention that making armour useful, important and therefore in demand is a really high priority right now, and hopefully tackling that will help with a lot of what you are saying. I know this is an issue a lot of people care about, crafters and PvPers both, and I'm going to try and find a good way to fix it. I'm not promising anything specific yet though because I'm mostly playing crazy ideas machine, Taran will make the final decision, but I'm sure as a team we will deliver something good soon.

I don't think you quite understand my point here... PvP isn't the only part of this game, yes it is a large part but not the only part and right now everyone is easily training craft skills due to easy AFK resource collecting which means crafters won't have much of a market cos most will be self-suppyling.. You're quick to jump when anyone even mentions PvP because that's what you do, I how ever don't. I like to craft but without a market I have no purpose which is depressing as I like it here. Anyway take it how you like, that's the way I see it and so do many other crafters.

i perfectly agree, is the thing i think too, if you tried many shards before this as i did in many years, first impact you have trying imagine nation is that theres ONLY pvp around (well the dungeons with tricks are very cool too). idk then how to let other stuff get started but you should find a way cause for the rest its a super cool shard, and i can say it, as i mentioned after i tried many big shards so far... so its a pity really

i tried to suggest implementing the tamer as any other shard have, for example, but I got only flames back.. Smile
