"encountered a problem and needs to close" error
#13

Yes, i have matched all the injection-settings with the recommended ones, got identical settings with smoke. I only crash when i type, when other players say something or when i leftklick on like, a tree, a pad, a cat or whatever, seems to crash from all kind of text.

Any more ideas?

"EDIT: Try to patch UO till client 5.0.5a"

how do i patch clients? is that the client you get after running the uo.exe file?

In order to patch Ultima Online, you need to run a fresh install of Ultima Online, (I assume it's on your start menu) and that will open the autopatch window before the game client itself starts.

In the event that you're using a very old Ultima Online disc, I'd recommend downloading Ultima Online : Mondains Legacy from EA. There's a link that can be found in the downloads section of this website.

So here's the rundown : Assuming you have downloaded and installed Mondain's Legacy, you'll need to autopatch it to a version that is supported by IN:X. I believe that client version 6.0.3.0 is preferred. Once you've reached that version of Ultima Online during the patching process, you'll need to manually close the autopatcher before it downloads any further patches, (which can complicate matters) and you can THEN proceed to run the IN:X patcher.

(Note that adding custom IN:X files before patching Ultima Online itself messes with UO's default autopatcher, and the chances are good that it won't update from that point onward, and will require a fresh install.)

Once you have completed those steps, I'd also recommend that you download the version of razor found on this website, as it's the most compatible version, and it removes encryption from the Ultima Online client. The link is in the download section.

If you follow those instructions to the letter, there's no apparent reason that Ultima Online shouldn't run normally without crashes.

I was going to try the patch-thing and abort, so i reinstalled uo, but after the first patch-session, when i click UO 2D it stops after a while:

"Transferring patch information
Downloading patch uoml_win32_5-0-7-1.rtp( 241208 bytes )
Downloading patch uoml_win32_5-0-7-1.pat( 11 bytes )
Applying patch patch\uoml_win32_5-0-7-1.rtp
Error applying patch
Error during session
Your client may not be the most recent version.
You may be able to play the game with your current client"

Cant remember that it did that the last time, since i had version, like, 7.x.x.x when i started the standard client.

So what is the problem here? should i try with some other uo-verion? where can i download it? This verison of UO i got from the "how to join" section. Im building up all kinds of errors, does not feel good. Smile

Regards.

And the problem remains with this version, crashing when i im typing, or see info-texts.

If you try it with Razor and it works, we know there's an issue with Injection.
If you try it with Razor and it doesn't work, it's another issue.

Either way, we will have gotten one step closer to finding out what's wrong Smile

I´ll be damned. Razor worked on first try, and after that i could run injection with the 5.0.1h m client.

"I'd also recommend that you download the version of razor found on this website, as it's the most compatible version, and it removes encryption from the Ultima Online client. The link is in the download section"

That did the trick, thx a bunch mpfplush! Smile
