Recently there was talk spreading amongst the townsfolk of Trinsic. This was no ordinary gossip for it started as but a quiet sense of panic that quickly boiling up and over and spread through the city like wildfire. And it was all brought on by the story of a mad guardsman who belonged to a doomed squadron of the Trinsic Army. This particular group of soldiers disappeared sometime not long ago while patrolling the eastern borders of Yew. It is said that they came upon an unknown cave and that whilst inspecting it, they discovered something dark and sinister within its depths.
The story of the doomed Trinsic Army patrol was told by a lone survivor who returned near-death and half-mad. According to his ramblings, before he succumbed to his injuries, there was a cave and inside it dwelled terrible monsters, the likes of which haven’t been seen nor heard of in ages. Giant creatures according to the guardsman; as vicious as they were massive. What's more, there was an underground forest that was itself even more deadly than the creatures who guard its entrance. According to the mad soldier the forest itself emit a toxin and that simply entering the woods was enough to poison anyone foolhardy enough to venture in.
The story spread and as it spread it became more fantastic and horrible. And so it is hard to know what is fiction and what is real. But according to word of mouth, the story continues... It is said that during the mad-guards final hour he told of how only a handful of his patrol made it through the deadly underground forest, and that beyond it there stood a dark citadel. Inkish in color it was, and difficult to determine where the structure ended and shadow began, as they seemed to intertwine with one another. Within the dark citadel resided black creatures. They were “Elves” he told, only twisted and dark; made evil. The last of the guards who survived the woods and came to the citadel were slaughtered, dispatched and butchered by the Dark Elves. The mad-soldier alone was spared by their vile leader only so that it would be made known to the outside world what had transpired, and that in doing so fear would spread; fear of what’s to come... The mad-soldier would serve to tell of their coming; the coming of the Drow.

There is much activity in the worlds of both Virtue and Vice...
John Falstaff, the leader of Vanguard has been recruiting additional virtuous men and women to serve his cause, as well as gaining additional allies including the Dwarves, Dragon-Kin, and Elves of Yew. Unfortunately, not all share the same faith as he. All Virtuous groups alike have claimed their capital as Trinisic, here they will stand and protect it against the Vile forces of the Vice.

Little does Falstaff know.. an attack has occurred at the Vanguard compound, leaving it in a swarm of flames and short their scribe, Bartleby.
Upon arriving at the pre-meditated destination, they throw Bartleby into a cell and prepare to question him. They plan on holding the scribe for ransom and to serve Falstaff and the rest of the Virtuous Groups a message.
Meanwhile, after a little food and well executed torture tactics, the scribe begins to cooperate and speaks.. He reveals only tidbits of information; the upcoming government of Trinsic, as well as the interest in The Crimson Brotherhood and its affiliated parties.
It was suspected the Vanguard would have interest in such matters...but the two didn't know they were to take action so soon. This reassured the fact that they made the first preemptive strike at a grand hour. After some additional interrogation efforts, Bartleby grew silent. The two hooded individuals conversed with each other about warcrime worthy interrogation methods...they wanted more information and were willing to risk the ill publicity. While being distracted in banter, Bartleby makes a daring move. After being rushed, the two quickly counter-act the escape attempt and back him into a corner.
After the attempted escape, the two were getting ready to leave the scribe to rot in the cell and without hesitation Bartleby ensured there would be a rescue and that it is likely already in progress. Bartleby claimed Falstaff knew of the location, and this was true. The owner of the stronghold and King of Dragon-Kin gave John a grand tour in efforts to manipulate his keen sense of corruption. This gave him assurance that Falstaff trusted him, but Bartleby claims otherwise, and that his leader returned and marked a rune in preparation of a betrayal like this.
Will Falstaff return to the dark compound in hopes of a rescue mission? Will he pay a ransom? Will he make the arsonists pay for their crimes?
We started off the night with a few drinks and telling a few tales getting to know each other.

After doing so Halt decided to cook us up some dinner. As a true pirate I showed no table manners!

We finished cleaning out his food storage and drinking more grog and decided to try our hands out at throwing knifes. Being a ranger Halt was very skilled but in true pirate form and a few more drinks Kander was able to show off with aim that could put a elf to shame using his bow.
After showing off our knife throwing skills we had the lust for blood and action...... and more grog. So we found some fighting cocks and let them fight to the death!

My fighting cock must have had poison in its feed since it died way to easy. I have a feeling a sneaky ranger had something to do with this. Har har.

Slurring my words I was able to talk the others into some dice rolling. And halt learned that you should never bet against a drunken pirate. I quickly won 20 silver coin and left him broke.

Prologue

The Dragon-Kin had ruled the lands for ages upon ages, living in tranquility with the creatures of old. They established a method of harmony for all to confide in and though they had the power, there was no need for war since before the second coming… though times began to change.

The New Age led by humans was finally at hand and it was unsafe for the infant heir to precede his venture as kin. Many of the dragon clan had split up and taken flight in search of new sanctuaries to call home; they held no desire to fight the newfound invaders and soon became lost in the lands. The old king and few of his guard refused to leave the ancient city and a great battle had been fought, though they were grossly outnumbered. Needless to say, the remaining of the dragon clan fell.

Darken had been oblivious of his true heritage, cast under a spell at birth confining him to the dreams and realities of a mere mortal. His father had taken the necessary precautions to keep him safe; to provide his soon dead kin a chance.

During the battle, Darken’s father had been mortally wounded and killed binding his soul to the ancient city he had sworn to protect. Many years had passed since the fall of Dargoth, and Darken was finally old enough to answer his real father’s beckoned call.

He had wandered the lands, confused of the voice echoing in his head until he had made way to a cavern that held familiarity, but was completely unknown to him.

After venturing what seemed to be days into this cavern, he stood in front of a fallen city. After a moments pause to witness the mayhem that had taken place, Darken had continued through the ruin seeking out the source of the voice.

He had found his way to the final stronghold of the ancient city, the only one that still stood through the battle of which he had no knowledge. Peering through the doorway, there stood the soul of a creature Darken had never seen. His father, one of many fallen Dragon-Kin, had spoken few words to him; words in the draconic language of which he did not understand. He pointed to an old wardrobe, raised his hand, removed Darken’s spell, and then vanished.

Chapter 1

The Birth of a King

One unruly winter has passed since the crucially unspoken inheritance of power the new king now wields. Left with nothing more than a book of riddles and an old stronghold from long ago, he was entirely alone. He wandered the halls of the stronghold for days with no desire for rest; pondering the life he had never known.

He had found himself staring at the old throne coveted by many of the dragon clan. It was tattered and stained with blood, there were also jewels missing from decorative locales; it was apparent the stronghold had been swiped of its rarities after battle. He sat on the throne; it was worn and unfamiliar to him. With passing thought, he began having visions of past days held in the once glorified room, seeing events and happenings he himself had never witnessed.

The air in the stronghold had grown stale; it had been closed up for quite some time before his arrival.

The inner chamber itself was the last structure of the fallen city that had remained in decent shape. There had been various indicators of death, marking what seemed like separate occasions of struggle; there had also been sign of large explosions that had removed the south wall without problem. Darken looked to the ground and clenched his fist, anger had filled his heart. He fell witness to emotions he had never known as a human, and realized what must be done.

There was no knowledge of any dragon-kin left alive in the lands; this gave Darken all the time he needed.

With each passing eve spent submerged in trances of meditation, an amount of draconic lore was revealed at his discretion. More had been clear to him; he knew he must pay revenge on the humans in this land, and to rebuild the ancient city once more.

Whilst hiding his true identity, Darken has decided to befriend a powerful adversary; he is known as John Falstaff.
After dropping a few eaves on the so called sneaky rangers. Dread Pirate Kander decided to head to this dark island with Vampires and Deamons. His goal was not to spy on them but just to see what the hell they looked like. So after leaving Ninos bar Dread Pirate Kander was so inebriated on rum it would kill a normal human. He decided to steal a ship and find this island. For a hour he slowly walked around the docks till he found a ship with its plank open. As a true pirate drunk or not he hoisted up the sails and took off. Hours past and the sun went down and the moon was up. Still blurry eyed from all the rum he heard some splashing off the rear of the ship. Kander quickly ran to the back and saw the most beautiful mermaid in the world. As a true sea dog he started to lay down his pirate charm. Drunkenly he opened up his plank to allow the mermaid to enter the side of his ship. Right when the plank was open he felt a quick slap on his legs the felt like lizard scales. The first thing that came to his drunken mind was "Arrr we got a feisty one" so he jumped on her tail screaming like a tribal savage. With his blood a pumping he got closer and closer to her mouth trying to steal a kiss. Right when he was about press his lips upon hers he heard a loud roar. Suddenly the mermaid started to throw chunks of fish guts all over the stolen ships deck. "Arrr what be going on" Kander said, the smell of the rotten fish started to sober up the drunken pirate. Once his eyes started to fully adjust to all the action Kander realized that it was no mermaid but a sea serpent. "Avast you slimy sea dog, you cant fool me into making dirty sea worms with you" Kander said. He quickly pulled out his cutlass and slayed the tricky sea serpent and pushed it over the side of the ship. So after gathering him self up after so much action and hours of sailing drunk he decided to check his map to see where he was at. After looking at the map and the land beside him he only drifted out of the dock of Britain and into a cove just a few meters away. Kander out of anger said screw it and gathered him self up and set fire to the stolen ship. Then he headed back to Ninos for more rum.

Sitting in the barracks Ayleth looked at her battered armour thinking to herself

"why do I do this, day in, day out. I serve a Queen who is never seen, a Princess who is never grateful and a Commander who holds no leadership qualities. It's just makes no sense..."

Ayleth sighed heavily.

"Ayleth, why are you not in uniform? The meeting is about to start."

"I just can't do it anymore Blair, it just makes no sense to me. We fight and fight and it all seems for nothing. I'm tired of this life."

"What? I don't think you're in the right state of mind my dear, maybe you should rest some and rethink what you have said before saying to anyone else." Blair grumbled

"Blair! Don't take me for a fool. I am well aware of what I am saying and I mean it. You are my best friend and my mentor, there is no one I respect more than you. I just don't understand this life anymore."

With a saddened look on her face Ayleth handed her uniform to her mentor.

"It was an honour and a blessing to have learnt from someone like yourself but I must take my leave and look for a new life.. A new begining.."

Blair just stood still as he collected Ayleth's uniform, with a slight smile he nodded his head in respect before turning and walking from the room. Ayleth slowly stood up and made her way outside, looking up at the glistening sun she smiled and exhaled deeply. It was as if a great weight had been removed from her shoulders and she headed to a local tailor to get some new clothes.

"Hello there Ma'am, the usual robe and bonnet?"

"Not today, I think I'll take one of those" she said cheerfully as she pointed out a fancy dress

"Oh my, what a lovely choice." he chirped

"Hmm, and that hat!"

Ayleth used the changing room to put on her new outfit before throwing the tailor a bag of coins and skipping out the door. Heading towards the docks she passed the local craft center, sitting outside on marble benches soaking up the sun's rays was a group of merchants who chatted away while making their goods. They looked so happy, at peace and content with their lives. There was no hostility, no anger and most of all; no bloodied corpses stinking up the place. Ayleth continued on her way whilst daydreaming on what a nice life they must lead, she thought maybe this would be a good place to start on her search for something new.

Arriving at the docks she wandered up to a local fisherman.

"Excuse me sir, I was wondering if I could hire you and your boat to take me away from this place?"

"mmmh, where would ya be lookin' ta go lass?"

"Anywhere, somewhere far away from here."

"Har, Me know just tha place ye be lookin' for, it be just a few weeks sail from these shores. The journey be dangerous but the land be worth tha trip. How that sound lass?"

"When can we leave?" she giggled

Ayleth threw the sailor a large bag of gold

"I hope this will cover your fee?"

"Meet me ere at sunrise, we set sail as the sun rises." the sailor winked

Ayelth headed to the local inn, sat down and drank a few bottles of ale before paying for a room for the night to rest her head.

She woke before the sun had risen and headed for the dock, excited for a new start and the idea of something totally different brought a smile to her face. Meeting up with the sailor she boarded the boat and the two set sail, the voyage was long and rough but thoughts of learning how to use her hands to make things kept Ayleth's mind at ease and passed the time away quickly. Before she knew it, they had arrived in the new lands and she bid farewell to the sailor and headed to the local bank.

It took her a few days to get a feel for the place and shortly she had made friends with a couple of the locals, one of which she spent most of her time with and he taught her the art of mining. The pair spent a lot of time in various caves mining as much ore as they could carry and soon talks of learning how to turn them into saleable goods filled their banter.

"You should come check out the guild I am part of, the guys there are keen crafters and know quite a bit. There is a lot you could learn from them, how about I introduce you tonight? They may just invite you to join."

Ayelth agreed and later that night the duo headed to the guild house where she was introduced to a few of the members. They all talked about various things and Ayleth mentioned her desire to learn all the art of crafting and wished to become a merchant. After a lot of talk and laughter, the guild master looked at Ayleth and smiled

"Welcome to The Corporation, I hope you enjoy being part of our guild."

( im not sure if im posting in the right section.. here is a very short story i have written to help form my RP guild "The King's Rangers" i dont have much time to write a bigger story as i am in the middle of alot of study, let me know what you think so far.. thanks.)

The King’s Ranger

Halt sat dorment in the branches of an old oak, watching as the Daemons and the Vampires held council in the second story of Daemon headquarters in Serpents Hold.
He had been sent here to investigate the rumours that a war was about to unleash between the Elves and the Vampires. From where Halt sat he could see Aralith and Nate seated closest to the window, and the voice of QiQi somewhere out of sight discussing the elves residents in Yew and there plans to expand throughout the area.
A bird landed close to halt with a rush and snapped a small branch with a “sqwawk!”. Nate’s eyes shot across to the window and peered out into the darkness. Halt sat perfectly still, trusting his shroud with its mottled green and grey unique pattern to hide him as it had on so many other occasions. “what is it?” Aralith asked. “ J’i thought I could smell Kip Lods, Let us discuss this another time Be’Ni, where hidden ears are not present, QiQi take the plans to the study, lock them in the drawers.” “J’i am not your slave nathanial do it yourself!” she growled. “hmmph”. Halt watched as Nate spat out of the window and stormed off.
Moments later a candle flickered on in a window higher up the castle, followed by Nate chanting “Kal Ort Por” paired with a flash of light.
Aralith and QiQi copied the chant and vanished in a clap of bright blue light.
Halt un-wrapped a rope he had brought with him, he searched for a thick strong looking branch and tied the rope off, he then tied the other end around a dagger he had brought with him to form a make-shift Grappling hook.

The Ranger swung the hook 3 times before releasing and sending it sailing high into the study room. Halt gave it a firm tug to make sure it was secure, then set about climbing the wall of the castle.
It was dark as he entered through the window so he lit a small candle and drew the curtains closed. The search for the plans was an easy one, in Nate’s rush he had forgotten to lock the drawer.
In Times where the rich had the power, ruling the world like they pleased, abusing the poors by taking their money & food... In Times where the man with an adventure spirit went into the wild hunting with their shinny armours and big dragons, killing the honest poor man that tryed to make a life from hunting.. In Times where fine warriors hunt everything that moves, cutting heads, and showing them has a prize...

Something had to be done...

Near the desert there was this man, known by few but respected by manny. A surviver from an ambush that had his friends and family to be slaughtered while travelling in will of finding a better place to hunt and live peacefully... But there is no such place in this world, so this man choosed his path...

He choosed the path of The Assassin, but not a comon Assassin, The ROYAL Assassin... An Assassin that lives from others achievements, by hunting Hunters, Rich people, chasing bountys. An Assassin that hunts everything that brings a profit to his pocket..

From dust he build up his group, who lived by his code, and who named them self The Royal Assassins, since they were the best in the art of making what they called, the Royal kills. Kills with big profits, Kills that no one expects for, Fast and painless kills.. They hunt the rich, they hunt the poor, they hunt the criminals and the inocents... They only dont kill the youngsters into this world...

They live by the words of their Leader:
"Be Fast & Smart & no Assassination shall fail"

The Code of Murrdah, The Code of an Royal Assassin:
No inocent with money or profitable armour shall survive when they cross with us.
No hunter with or without a Dragon shall be seen has a challenge, and for that shall be Assassinated and pillaged.
No criminal with money in his pocket shall let be go unless he helps us fight for our cause, the cause of gold and weathyness.

Some people say they live in the wild, some people say they live by the water, but no one knows where they live, becouse no one comes out with life to tell the truth.. But the truth is that no one knows who they are, since they wear a hood over their heads, that covers the rest of their body and lets no one see under the shadow that covers their heads... Some say that those who try to look dont stay around to tell what they saw..

They speak like normal people, they act like normal people, but they kill like no one else, they kill by the art of the Assassin.

Some say they stand by the Virtue, other say they stand by the Vice.. but the truth is that they stand for what brings them power and money... Some say there is no love in their Hearts, Others say have no feelings, the thruth is that they dont see what they do, as a matter of chaos or order, but as a fact of survival, a world where they own wouldnt survive if they didnt fight for their lifes..

Spinning dagger in hand, Locke waits crouched behind a small farmer’s fence waiting for the last rays of light from the day to disappear.

“Where are the others?” demands Rio, leader of the night’s raid. “It’s almost time”

Standing up Locke casually answers back “They’ll be here, guards watch the path to the North pretty heavily, probably just got held up”. Rio nods and squints his eyes “There! There they are!” pointing to shadows moving on the other side of the field. Motioning toward the house Rio smiles and whispers “Locke, you’re up”

Walking toward the farm house Locke fingers his dagger under his cloak and knocks on the door. After seeing an old man through the window, Locke shouts “Excuse me sir! Can you help? My horse has fallen ill on the way to the castle.” Locke waits and eventually the door creaks open. “The castle?” asks the old man looking Locke up and down. “Yes sir, very important business” Locke answers back “Perhaps even a reward when the council hears of your assistance” Locke smiles and grips his dagger. “Oh now” the old man starts “I have no need for coin or treasure, simply aiding the crown is good enough a reward for me” and motions for Locke to enter the house. The old man slowly closes the door and looks around “A bit too dark in here for company, eh?” and lights a candle in the window. Shuffling toward the fireplace the old man asks “So, what can I do for you now?”

Locke takes a step forward “Well you see..” he starts, but is interrupted by the sound of horse hoofs and the clank of metal armor coming from outside. Locke quickly dashes for the door and flings it open to see his brothers rushing into combat with some of the crowns finest. Locke stood in the doorway stunned to see so many heavily armored guards and hears a slight chuckle coming from the old man’s direction. “You knew!” shouts Locke “This was you!” Locke’s eyes dart to the candle the old man lit when he first arrived and pulls the dagger out from his cloak. The old man begins to back up “The guards! They made me! Even offered me gold and protection!” Locke jumps toward the old man as he continues to plead for his life and swiftly puts a dagger in his chest whispering to the old man as he guides the body to the floor “ Where is your protection now old man? Both man and god have left you here to die.” Locke removes the dagger from his chest and continues “The power and privilege of righteousness is coming to an end, Anarchy is gripping this land. embrace it.” Locke bolts to the door to aid his brothers in combat but is smashed in the face with a shield by an entering guard and everything goes black.

Waking up alone in a stable, lying in blood soaked hay Locke tries to recall what happened after the old farmer’s death. Am I caught? “No” he whispered “They would have just killed me.” Then how did I get here he wondered. Did anyone from the attack survive? Rio? Any of the others? He pondered for a while trying to see through the blood smeared on his face until he heard footsteps approaching. From the other side of the room where he lay he heard a voice “Well don’t you look pretty” it said. Out of instinct Locke’s hand goes for his dagger “Who’s there”? he demands.

“Rio” the voice answers. “The rest are dead.” The room goes silent.
Rio finally breaks the silence “What now?”
“We strike back” Locke answers

“We must do more than just resist this tyrant they call a king and his virtues. His crown is corrupt and his hand brings death to those who refuse to obey his tyrannical laws.
Too long they have chased us, branded us with the name of brigand and criminal, casted us out in the cold and forced us to live in the shadows. Now. Here.On this spot.We fight. We build an army so powerful it shakes the heavens and all those who dare oppose us will know the name of the Crimson Brotherhood.”
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The Crimson Brotherhood is now Recruiting!

We are an "Evil" based roleplaying guild that is currently building it own town(In a secret location!) shh! ..and will help new players collect gold and place a house here. Theyre currently still a good amount of spots where we are but they may be taken soon!
Guild decisions work like a Democracy as to what we need to focus on or when we go to war, etc. We are all equal.
All members must stay in character at all times when in public and wear guild colors - Black and Red. (Remember we are bad guys!)

We will soon have a fully equiped training area for new players or players who wish to create a new character to join. All are welcome!

We plan to have guild events within our own ranks as well as interacting with other roleplaying guilds (in the forming RPA)
such as territory wars and raids.

Either send me a PM here or in game with any questions or invite requests.

Roleplayers Association and an RP Proposal.

As Britain more and more becomes a city that is less appealing for the RP oriented player I feel that both good and evil style players of the RP persuasion should branch out and identify with different cities. Several of us RP Order players have decided that Trinsic will now be the unofficial RP Order city. Between Vanguard having our guild compound within the city limits and with several RP players using the local Inn for lodgings Trinsic is slowly developing into a city that will be a good place for RP'ers to do their banking, shopping, and socializing. With enough traffic we can turn Trinsic into a vibrant RP friendly city.

This brings me to an idea I have that involves RP chaos and order players. Right now there are quite a few RP guilds on the server. But we are a fractured bunch and there are not really any story lines or narratives that connect any of our guilds. There’s no struggle for good and evil. Since the server is around 50-50 non-rp to rp friendly there is the worry for RP guilds that choosing order or chaos means having to deal with leet PK guilds that aren’t much interested in anything but lol-ing and lmao-ing and pownage. This kind of situation can be demoralizing for RP guilds who are interested in more than just the schadenfreude nature of this kind of PvP.

But we must also make joining an RP guild as something that can be fun and not something that is perceived as just some players talking funny and using emoticons . On a previous shard i played on there was a long running war between good and evil RP guilds, each laying claim to certain territories. I think this kind of grand narrative would be good for growing the RP community here and it would bring PvP that is fun and respectful.

So I am proposing a few things.

1.Instead of using Chaos and Order as faction labels for RP guilds we could use words like Virtue and Vice(or other words that can replace order and chaos that we can agree to. ) . I suggest this because it may get confusing using the same order and chaos labels when it fact for logistical reason RP guilds under this plan can avoid officially pledging to a faction, which I will explain below.

2. We set up a RP Association(RPA) where RP guilds register their faction(Virtue or Vice). By doing this the RP guild does not officially have to be order or chaos and can avoid being attacked by non-RP guilds. All guilds that are part of the RP association must declare war status on opposing faction guilds. War status does not necessarily mean you must war, but it means opposing factions will always be orange to you.

2.	Virtue and Vice each select a guarded city as their capitol. Trinsic will be the RP city of Virtue. Vice then would select a city. Each city will have a ruler and a city council chosen by the guilds of that faction. A rules of engagement will apply to all RP guilds part of the RPA. For instance when a player belonging to the Vice faction enters Trinsic he will be KoS to all Virtue members. This action entering the enemy capitol by the Vice member is provocative. But if the Vice and Virtue player are to run into each other in the wilderness or a dungeon or another city the rule of engagement is different and players must at the very least must engage in brief RP before attacking the other.

3. Guilds that are members of the RPA must also live up to a code of conduct. This can be narrowed down to four words: Don't be a douche. This includes no griefing, no res killing, no deliberate ruining of other players RP. Players who are in a guild that is part of the RPA must also stay in character. All this means is that they cannot reference IRL.

Consider this a rough draft proposal. I thought I would just throw this out there and see what the RP community here thinks. If anyone sees something they would like to change or add post it here.

Edit: It's probably too confusing the re-label chaos and order. Perhaps RP Chaos & RP Order would be better. But i think the problem does exist for RP guilds if we officially go order or chaos that we get pulled into and become targets of every chaos/order guild.

Edit 2: so we came up with a better word than deceit for rp chaos faction : Vice. So good/evil labels would be Virtue and Vice.
