fruit of your labor means your work payed off.

farmers work really hard to make a good fruit, say an apple, you want it crunchy and sweet.

so maka worked hard to make a nice "fruit" ie shard.

he meant it in a way like this: enjoy the finished game, which he partly maked, but couldn't finish. Its like an empty tree now, with fruits growing ha ha

for the same reason french verbs change for each tense and for each person (I, you, he/she, we, they, them)
