Vice Strikes; The Battles Begin. (The RPA Stories)
#1

An Unlikely Alliance;

There is much activity in the worlds of both Virtue and Vice...
John Falstaff, the leader of Vanguard has been recruiting additional virtuous men and women to serve his cause, as well as gaining additional allies including the Dwarves, Dragon-Kin, and Elves of Yew. Unfortunately, not all share the same faith as he. All Virtuous groups alike have claimed their capital as Trinisic, here they will stand and protect it against the Vile forces of the Vice.

Little does Falstaff know.. an attack has occurred at the Vanguard compound, leaving it in a swarm of flames and short their scribe, Bartleby.

Two villains make haste and escort the scribe to a readied ship and sail away leaving no viable evidence. Books, Treasures, Furniture and the likes are all left, burnt to a crisp.

Upon arriving at the pre-meditated destination, they throw Bartleby into a cell and prepare to question him. They plan on holding the scribe for ransom and to serve Falstaff and the rest of the Virtuous Groups a message.

Meanwhile, after a little food and well executed torture tactics, the scribe begins to cooperate and speaks.. He reveals only tidbits of information; the upcoming government of Trinsic, as well as the interest in The Crimson Brotherhood and its affiliated parties.

It was suspected the Vanguard would have interest in such matters...but the two didn't know they were to take action so soon. This reassured the fact that they made the first preemptive strike at a grand hour. After some additional interrogation efforts, Bartleby grew silent. The two hooded individuals conversed with each other about warcrime worthy interrogation methods...they wanted more information and were willing to risk the ill publicity. While being distracted in banter, Bartleby makes a daring move. After being rushed, the two quickly counter-act the escape attempt and back him into a corner. Bartleby had no choice but to yield.

After the attempted escape, the two were getting ready to leave the scribe to rot in the cell and without hesitation Bartleby ensured there would be a rescue and that it is likely already in progress. Bartleby claimed Falstaff knew of the location, and this was true. The owner of the stronghold and King of Dragon-Kin gave John a grand tour in efforts to manipulate his keen sense of corruption. This gave him assurance that Falstaff trusted him, but Bartleby claims otherwise, and that his leader returned and marked a rune in preparation of a betrayal like this.

Will Falstaff return to the dark compound in hopes of a rescue mission? Will he pay a ransom? Will he make the arsonists pay for their crimes? This is a test to see how far the Virtuous man will go to save one of his own. All Races, of Virtue and Vice alignment, must be prepared for what is to come.
