who thinks the provocation skill gain is too long and needs to be tweeked.. For the amount of times you fail provoking monsters the skill gain is way to long

I've trained Musicianship and Peacemaking, the easiest of the bard skills, and they took a bit of time to train. Are the hardships worth the rewards?

Yes provocation is necessary for effective hunting. It's pretty slow, though. Discord gains slow as well. Hell, every skill here gains slow

I wouldn't be opposed to a tweak of skill gains for non-craft skills, I feel more people would be macroing up chars that way.
edit: to stay on topic of provocation, my vote is that provo gets a little %success increase

aggreeed it is very important for hunting and the sucess rate on provoce should be increased or the skill gain should be easier

it took me about 2 weeks to GM macroing 24/7. so it should take you just as long =o NO INCREASE!

This is pretty much the basis of 99% of "change/don't change" arguments. If you have GM'd it, you want it made harder, if you're still macroing it you want it made easier.

So what's so good about the provoc skill? You can get something to attack something else?

Yeah but an attitude like that isn't going to help this place grow any either.

Neither is raising and lowering skill gains every time someone asks instead of looking at it from the perspective of usefulness/profit in hunting and time required.
I don't think that the time that it takes needs to be changed. It's long, but there's a huge, huge, huge, benefit.
I'm not so sure about the success percent. I haven't seen a lot of problems with success when I've tried it. Harder monsters will have a lower percentage to be provoked since they drop better loot. There should be a challenge to hunting harder monsters and if you can just provoke all the dragons into one big dragon pile, the 'strong' dragon is suddenly a pushover.

I changed the options & reset the poll. Lets have a re-vote with more options.
On a side note, how the hell does vBulletin have no way of resetting the poll without running MySQL queries to delete the votes from that database? >_<
