Why are there player made and marked rune books gm locked down near the portal mage ?
Did someone buy the bottom half ?
If that is not added by a player I think that it needs to be taken away, as it ruins players who have added them near there vendors to draw attention. For example near jokers *NEW* vendor they have some good runes in there books.
It is one thing that helps draw players away from the lag fest of the vendor mall and to there vendor little hut.
Im also 99% sure I crafted those books which used to sit in the daemon vendor hut.
(could be wrong)
Anyways topic at hand if the bottom half is not owned by a player can we get rid of it because there other players who have done this same thing and it takes away from there work.

I added them there a while ago to help new players, I guess I didn't really think it through though. I'll move them back to their original location.

I used these books a lot, can I ask where they have been moved to?

The other option would be to move them to a little shack in the Festival grounds which is unguarded, but has most damaging spells disabled.

They got moved to the small house at the entrance to Lord British castle. I think we should leave it up to the players to set up runebook libraries and whatnot. It was wrong of me to lock them down there in the first place.

Your heart was in the right place though
What do you think of the commercial runebook libraries I was mentioning?
The CEO Moongate Library script we have already lets you place a moongate deed, add runebooks to it, set a price, and it keeps track of how much has been spent. All that would need to be added is a way to collect the gold that's on it.
I was thinking that you keep 80% of whatever people spend at the moongate library. So, you could set it for free if you want to be nice, or you could set it higher to get a bit of money from having a huge library. It adds a new element to the economy, encourages world exploration, and acts as a sort of gold sink, though minor.

It was a good idea, didn't see a problem with it. Other than they didn't work for me xD I'll have to try them out in their new location.

Shadow's Vendor place has them, Joker's vendor house has different ones. The Pirate bar had different ones. The crows nest has different runes. The daemon vendor house has the ones that were under the moon gate guy, first house on the right in front of Lord British's castle. I mean to me part of uo is Exploring which obviously no one is doing, it's possibly the biggest map in a MMO.
One of the first things I do as a player is Mark runes to everywhere ill ever want to go.
It was a good idea for new players I just hate seeing player run ideas be taken away
Thanks Taran sry new guy.
