What about adding a gump when you die that will allow you to travel to Serps Hold or Britain for a price? Or maybe loweres stats by 25% for 15 minutes as a penalty if you use it? Or even lock skill gain for a short time...?

I would hate to think of a perma-gate placed at every town...

? Doesn't everyone use runes? I myself only carry 1 rune with me around and leave the rest in bank. I mean, lets not make things too easy for everyone

Why is it necessary to add these gates should be the real question.

If it is just for convenience or for people who die in Occlo to gate easier, seems silly to implement gates to all major towns and dungeons for that. Why not just add a gate to brit bridge from occlo?

Im not sure what situation/issue is surrounding the casino..?

I dont understand the gate to all towns. We have runebooks for that.

A npc that'll take you to casino? why cant you just recall there and walk in?

And if your concern for Island where players cant res cuz they're scared to get res killed we can always add that res thing beside the casino that will res you and it will prevent res killing.

It would be more expensive than just recalling, so that would be recommended. The purpose would be for people who are stranded and have no other way to get back. An alternative would be to add bank boxes to the front of dungeons, but bank boxes everywhere are bothersome.


On a side note, I don't care either way, I'm just opening this up for discussion. I hardly play at all on a mortal character and just thought that people would appreciate an easier way of traveling. I considered it the same as the current ferry system. It's there and it's a convenient way to get from place to place if you don't have a rune, but hardly anyone uses it since it's 100g per trip.

Guarded town transportation:
I'm all for convenience, if it plays nice with existing mechanics. I'm afraid this system, in the form it's suggested, would make moongates completely useless. If this system was to be implemented, I think 50-100gp is way too small fee for it. Moongates are the system used currently if you don't have a rune from one town to another.

Dungeon transportation:
I like transportation from dungeons to Casino in certain cases. I dislike the transportation to dungeons from Casino. NPC outside dungeon transporting you to Casino, if you are dead, would be convenient. It should have a fee deducted from your bank and transportation is only possible if you are dead. That way if you die you can pay for the convenience of getting back or leg it if you don't want to pay. I don't like transportation from Casino to dungeons simply because it discourages world exploration. Maybe, if there was a significant fee to it.

Unguarded town transportation:
Same as dungeon transportation. Most of these towns are kind of out of the way. Ocllo on an island, Papua and Delucia in t2a, Serpent's Hold accessible through dungeon or by boat. Transportation between East Brit to Casino is just pointless. Tongue

TLDR; Needs a hefty fee, if implemented. Money sinks, go economy! What's this ferry system? I've been away for a while.

It's a boat that you need to buy tickets to get onto, then once you're on, it asks where you want to go. You pick where you want to go, then it takes your ticket and sends you there. It has a ton of places that you can choose from. Pretty much any town that has a pier.

It doesn't make much sense to disable recalling in the casino if you just want to add gates. I think recalling should be back on for now, until we figure out wtf is going on.


I still think gates are a bad idea...

So you want a safe bank outside of protection of the town guards where you can recall out of without being killing? Same thing goes with houses you want a safe bank in your home yet you don't want travel assistance? The idea is good even if there is runes it's just to help players out and easier rather than have to recall everywhere. JUST like your banks in your homes you can bank from your home instead of recalling but yet you choose to have house banks. It's the exact same argument just one holds storage and one teleports you to another place..

I also don't agree with the timer on leaving the casino either.. there never was one.
