Basic Transportation Provided by Golden Casino

Brandon Wrote:No, you misunderstood me. Obviously you're aware of UOAM since you used it in your argument. I was simply trying to illustrate how easy it is to find and use. You made it out to be confusing and the act of getting it to be laborious.

Yeah it's easy to use but my point was that it shouldn't be a necessity to play on any shard, it's an optional 3rd party program..

I assume you mean waiting near the exit to jump out when someone's trying to enter? That should be fixed now as there's a timer to exit the casino, same as entering.

UOAssist, Razor, Injection, Easy UO. If you feel that way then please quit using Injection.

Edit: I just remembered you kind of need Razor to connect. My point still stands with Injection and EasyUO.

I recommend UO Cartographer, btw. I find it SO much better than UOAM.

That's a whole different discussion man, everyone uses some type of program to macro or else they'd go crazy trying to macro here. The discussion we were addressing was about exploring and travel assistance so if anything that was a grasp at straws type of comment..

Edit: to your edit :p, ofc Injection and EasyUO is optional If you know to use them great, if not you can always ask for help but it's not needed to play. It just makes resource gathering and PvP easier but again this is a different topic rather than travel assistance.

I was doing some searching and I learned that both UOAM and UOC are both not supported anymore. The person/people that created UOC fell off the planet, or so several forums lead me to believe. I tried UOC recently and I still prefer UOAM.

Also, I don't think that we made a big enough explanation of Waystones when we released them. I think I'll add a "Getting around" section to the guides to show all the different ways that you can get places. In the process I can see if there are any places that are really hard to get to, then add specific routes when necessary.

The Waystone can be bought from any banker for I think 5K. They are newbied and will set a location when purchased (wherever you're standing when you buy it). If you double-click the waystone, it will teleport you to the place where it was purchased after 30 seconds. If you move or take damage, this timer resets and the effect is canceled.

If you buy one at a bank you want to be able to get back to after you die in a dungeon, etc, you can use that at any time to return to that bank. It's expensive, but provides a really fast way to get back to town and restock and go back to grab your gear, so the cost is worth it to keep one around.

No, you yourself said a third party program shouldn't be a necessity. I used Injection as an example. You don't need Injection and you can get by just fine using Razor. Do you use Injection? If so, why?

Fair enough. My biggest gripe with it is that it doesn't cover later versions of maps, specifically an expanded felucca and trammel map. There's a lot of areas that are now added with a higher X value than the old UOAM goes to, so UOAC is more useful to me from a staffing perspective. Tongue The interface for UOAM may be better though. *shrug*

Ofc I use injection, I use it because its faster than razor by about 1-1.5 sec which is a big deal in PvP and I'm all about the PvP. I haven't used razor in 3 years and I've only been playing UO for 4 years almost 5 now. Doesn't change the fact that I still don't think you should have to download a map pack to play the game though. The reason why I use a program over another because it's faster and better isn't the same as comparing it to using that program in general.

I've pretty much set out to prove the point I was trying to make. You said you use a third party program to PvP successfully. You use it because it's faster and more convenient. It's not necessary to use Injection during fights. As you said yourself, it drastically improves your performance.

It's not completely necessary to use UOAM/UOC to travel Britannia and the Lost Lands. It helps with navigation, but it's not necessary.

Once again, we have runes and rune books. If a person wants to travel to another town they can use a rune. Most people choose magery as a starting skill and you receive 1,000gp daily for voting. If all else fails they can use the moongates.

To be completely honest,

I think if the staff wants to spend time on creating new stuff for the shard it should be stuff that will increase the things players can get involved in (i.e. automated duels/tourneys, mayor stones, and handsies at Nino's)

It should not be stuff that is going to make said activities easier.
