I originally played on IN years and years ago, on a shitbox computer with dialup.
Needless to say, I got hammered, but still no UO experience compared to my Original IN one.

Anyway, I want to get back into it (now on adsl 2+) in west sydney. The game seems laggier than I remember. Any tips would be greatly appreciated to improve the performance of the game or latency. ( i get that we are far away but i didnt expect so much choppyness).

yeah unfortunately there seems to be a problem with everyone from Australia... Khal Drago is having the same issue. Hope you guys figure something out :/

Well i'm still giving it a shot, i can run around on foot fairly smoothly, but on a horse is just gimp.
The starting area, and macroing available is encouraging though, but the lag is too much for my other mates to come back, and theres a few.
I'll stick around for now for the nostalgia.

Wow.. im guessing the aforementioned link is banned for some reason?
If it can lower my ping from 360 something playable I dont see why it should be banned... or should i just not play on this server along with my aussie mates.

but i read in another forum post by Eru that put it up too so thats why i removed it lol. I dont think using this is bannable. Why would it be?

I think you should try it and if it helps we should tell all the Aussies about it and also put the info on the website somewhere.

I'll get some ping tests and tracerts going now and see how it goes. Will post back with results of before and after.

There are things that you could do with it that would be against the rules, but I wont' get into that. But for reducing lag, that's fine Hopefully it works.

The server is hosted in Sweden right?
I had a quick look at this battleping last night, my ping is at 360 most times with or without it. The program asks you to select one of their servers closest to the place you are trying to connect. It then pings that location for you (im assuming via their route)

I saw no improvement, even the pings to france, germany, england were all 300+ which means it will be higher still to get to the server.
However nothing appeared to have changed when doing tracerts so im going to have another go as i may have missed something to get the program working.
