i say disallow macroing period. no one interacts everyone just goes online sits there and macros until there char is complete, i mean the best ways to make money are to macro the best way to obtain items is through money which means more macroing, with all the guides on how to macro with razor anybody can do it and everybody is doing it. obtain skills is through macroing.

pvpers might hate so maybe make skill gain easier or add a power hour (ooh theres a topic for another post Big Grin) rpers should love because then they have to live more as the char then as a macroer i mean uo is supposed to be a game not an extra long "set it and forget it" commercial

maybe not all macroing should be stopped, just the helpful skills like tailoring, mining( already prety sure mining cant be macroed but not positive) BS, lumberjacking, basically any skills that benefit you more for macroing while you watch porn then actually playing the game Big Grin

So everybody gm mining, bs, tailor, carpentry, alchemy and inscript and the economy dies cause no one go buy armor, potions or scrolls. I don't wanna everybody GM all Big Grin

right now everyone is gm everything cause if you wanna gm a skill all you getta do is let your comp run all nite, beleive me if you had to work for every skills you would way less char with those skills gmed
#4

Oh?Smile Try to GM Inscription, Blacksmith, Taming :p All what i GMed from those skills is inscription, but i know that to GM bs for example u need ~300k iron ingots;p Not that easy i would say)
#5

im not saying it isnt difficult to gm skills im saying the process we use here defeats the purpose of playing, are you mining your iron or buying it cause if your buying it im willing to bet your using money (maybe your even skilled enuf to macro mining i no im not Big Grin ) you made from macroing and then once you have bought that iron your gonna go back to macroing to finish BS am i right?

Most part is gm on afk useless skills, Dont have alot of people gm on hard skills that need a bit of work like bs, and when the new wepons come alive I think the hard work of those people will be more appreciated.

And we cant macro all night without money, so if you need money you need hunt, mining, gate woll or wood, fishing etc... and You cant do it AFK

yes there are ways to gather sheep and wood and mining all through macroing afk thats actually the easiest, quickest and safest (yet least fun and most detrimental to shard) way to do it

and the useless skills should be the only ones where aloud to macro, like magic resistance or anatomy, they are not entirley useless but you cant make money off them really unless you cant the bonues you get while hunting

Sure, you will be back to finish bs if you have the iron, How you wanna people go gm skill without macroing??? and if we are macroing its cause have more things to do like work, scholl or sleep ( some people sleep at night and let chars macroing) or see porn movies

you can make it emit a loud sound somehow so you know when it comes up ( the macro gump i mean) and the whole point to this is that people should not be benifiting in game while they are at work or sleeping or at school they should only beneifit while they are playing

The reason of that discussion is People Interact, we dont go have it until every of the 50 active players get they objective in amount of skill OR the playerbase raise. So we can wait people reach they objective or call more people to play here to increase palyerbase.

If everyone call one more to play the playber base go raise by 50.
So start calling friends, moms, grand moms...And dont forget to vote Big Grin

How the hell is this even being discussed seriously? Lets take one example:

Smithing takes 300K ingots to GM.
1 Dagger takes 3 Ingots.
100K repetitions are needed.
1 Rep is 3-4 seconds. Lets say 3.5 is the average.
That's 350K seconds.
5833.3 Minutes
97.2 Hours
4.05 Days.

Noone on earth will sit in front of a computer double clicking a menu for four days. Rediculous. The appeal of UO is that you CAN automate it and don't have to do the mind numbing grind fests that more advanced graphics engines require.

The end result is that NOONE would ever GM their skills, the people who have already GM'd them will dominate the market, and no new players will want to stay. There are much better ways to rejuvenate the economy than to make skills impossible to gain.

Recipees that require a rare ingredient.
Cooldowns on high-quality recipees. (Can make one per day, week, etc.)
Significant bonuses if you get an exceptional item.
More craftables in general. The more things there are to craft, the easier it is to find a niche.

Those are off the top of my head, but I could come up with more if anyone even bothered to read this far.
