Alright, you have all been waiting patiently for updates (well most have been patient anyway, hehe) and I think many of you are wondering where Maka went.

Well, I'll let you hear the bad news first. Maka is taking break from UO and scripting since he's just too busy IRL. He recently moved to Denmark, now he's moving back to Sweden again... he has to study a lot as well as work to make some money.
This is very sad news, especially for the XUO-ers who knows that he's a great admin. I don't want you to loose hope just yet though...

I will be taking on the role as Administrator for IN:X, Hate will be bumped up to Seer and as stated in previous threads we have three new developers that will help out with scripting, Pepper, The Tome and Sotho Tal Ker.
I know that I can never fill Maka's place as admin, but together with Coldrake I hope that we will be able to keep the XUO spirit alive. Don't worry, when it comes to PvP we have XUO staff members with excellent knowledge about that, I won't mess that up

We will also bring Beta 2 up Wednesday 18th and it will be up for as long as we need it to. A lot of bugreports from Beta 1 have been fixed, along with a number of improvements and new scripts. Unfortunately I don't have a changelog since the plan was that Maka would make this announcement, and he's the only one that knows what has been changed.
From now on all changes will be documented though, and I will keep you all updated on that front.

So with this post, I hope you will be able to keep your hopes up... because once we exit Beta IN:X will indeed become one of the better shards online

so shards going live finally? i honestly thought this wasnt going to happen and well about maka , im sure he'll someday get his ass back to the server but for now i understand him..i mean..he just took a big twist in his life leaving his hometown and all behind to move with his girl to a diff country , plus he also has to deal with his studies and with any job he takes so if i was him , inx would be the least of my concerns ...yet he will most likely pop up when he has some more free time . Im sure Taran will do very well taking the role of the admin and well what can i say..ill surely check on it when the server's up

Yeah, Taran will certainly do a good job as admin in Maka's place...or as long as INX up, as the case may be.

Curious to know though...what happened with Maka and his girl? Was it that or the job that didn't work out?

It's not a very logical and smart move which Maka made.. To move to Denmark and see it's just pointless and get back to his home town [SIZE="6"]142[/SIZE]!

Taran i hope you discuss from now on alot with Hate. He has been a great Administrator/Developer/Seer/Gm in the past for loads of shards. He and n0x are the ppl who know everything about Xuo (the other Mods came a lot later). I hope they will get involved alot.

Anyway, Good Luck!.. I will call some ppl that the beta is going up again.
I am sure that i won't log on much, but maybe i am able to play a few hours a week.

IN:X will not be like the old IN or the old XUO - it will be different (don't get me wrong.. if we wanted to do IN or XUO we could just use their old scripts ), but hopefully contain the best from both shards.
To achieve that, we have to ask you, the old players and GMs from both shards to give us every information needed, so that we can build the best playing experience for everyone.
Because of this we plan to open the next beta in the middle of this week, so you can test and report things which do not work as expected.
This new beta will have many fixes which Maka already did, before his life took a change and will also contain other things already made by the new development team.

how i understood it, did maka plan to move back to sweden but in "skåne" near denmark after a while to complete hes studies but i dunno. what he said brefely last time we spoke, before he left sweden. dont know if he planned to move to sweden that fast after leaving for denmark.. but then again i didnt even know he was back in sweden.

and btw black maka have not lived in 142 for a long while ;p.. only me who still lives at 142 (that still plays ultima that is).

are u sure ur going to open beta? shouldnt u check out if its stable enough or all bugs fixed wich we found + new edits and such?like in latest beta u just had xuo style implented,fixed IN now so some ppl will stop complain?

i think the IN staff members can sincerly say there is more of a IN feel to it so no worries for the IN players.

it is a beta so if there are still crashing bugs thats no problem, point of a beta is to find those and fix em. but as far as i know they have been fixed, or mostly hehe.

Maka doesn't want to quit, it is something that he has to do. Sometimes RL has it's way of taking hold of you and your free time. However, Maka put a lot of work into this project already... and we will not let it be for nothing. INX is in very good and capable hands. And who knows, maybe when Maka has all his ducks in a row he will come back and hang out with us again.

Taran was chosen to take over Maka's admin responsibilities because he really cares about this project. He has done a lot of hard work and really wants INX to be a success. I think everyone will be happy with this decision. The new developers are very talented and we will have no problem in the dev department. We will all miss Maka and that is normal. It is sad whenever someone has to say goodbye. But his work lives on in INX and I think it would be a shame to not enjoy the fruit of his labor.

INX has already gone through a lot and we are not about to give up. It may have taken us longer then expected but it will be worth it when all is said and done. Beta is starting this week and then we will go live shortly after that when all the new bug fixes are in place. We are certainly in the final stretch now.
