If this Shard only had 2 commited staff this wouldn't had decreased from the day Prototype got house stolen.
Btw... aint that hard to build an already known shard, and rights reserved is not applied to this matter, im just waiting for holidays to put IN back online even if Taran doesn't co-op...

It would be nice if someone like Nasir, Eru or even Overdose(xd) would continue with the shard(idk any of the other staff, I've been told Loki is a trustable guy also), and I'm sure Taran have considered that and they rejected or they have no time for it. Wich its understable since its a OLD game.

I won't play if it goes on but its always nice to see your old/new community going on.

Anyway you have no rights to blame a person that expended MANY hours(years) for free on this project, and since it's HIS project he can do whatever he wants and I'm sure he just wants the best for the community ( and you want the best for yourself). You as a player maybe expended thousands of hours PLAYING and taking care of your own mortal but the staff have been WORKING for you to enjoy this time. And now that the guy that made this possible decides he cannot continue with this you blame at him and want him to give you all their/his job because you PLAYED/enjoyed his work? It makes no sense to me.

About the donations, as I've said before they were used to keep the shard alive (wich was its purpose), so I see no reason why this is a issue.

Btw, maka made a lot of work into this and did lots of awsome stuff but HE decided to leave and chose Taran to run it, since then Taran has been the one doing AWSOME job to keep this working and making this better.

Anyway I enjoyed IN-X and IN, I even roleplayed as a Vampire(I wasn't the best role-player but it was cool, I actually sucked at it xd). It was a cool merge and a good way to change my perspective of uo. Eventhough I disagreed with Taran in almost all when I was a staff back in the days xd

I'm not attacking your personal decsions but your admin ones were just terriable...how can u say its not your fault...what have u done in the last like 5 months...pretty much nothing...its just sad it takes the shard shutting down for u to start coming around again...I mean honestly you guys forgot about the skill gain weekend..and that's the most recent thing I can remeber and the staff didn't even know what was going on..that's just being a a poor admin...

And maybe if you listened to most of the community other than the few people that post on forums it may have.turned out better and players wouldn't have *****ed so much

That was me. I announced it because someone was asking for one and I figured it couldn't hurt, so I set a date. Then I got home from work tired and went to sleep on the day it started, then turned it on when I woke up and checked the forums.

I wouldn't have the time for it. I'm working 40+ hours a week, plus have other side projects that are keeping me busy and up to my eyeballs in code. :<

Wow this thread got really ugly, IN has existed for over a decade, it was bound to end eventually, running a UO server is a lot of work, costs a lot of money and as the owner you can barely ever take a break without things going to shit, you can't expect someone to keep that up forever, it isn't fair to put this on Taran and especially when the server is nearly dead anyway. On some level we will all miss it, the UO nostalgia does tend to come back from time to time, but the glory days were over 10 years ago now, you can't blame Taran for that, it's just a fact.

If it hadn't been Taran running the server it would have died a long time ago, seriously, I tried my own server once, I ditched it much faster and with a much higher playerbase than IN currently has because it takes a lot out of your life. If you haven't tried to do it you can't understand the stress, the constant need to be the guy making the decisions, the huge pressure on your spare time, the fact that it becomes more and more like a job and not a game, that more and more people expect things of you that aren't really fair to expect from a hobby, the whining (there is always some, about literally anything).

If you doubt what I am saying then go for it; make a server. You can DL runUO, all the scripts like battle chess, auctioneer, player vendors, karma bongs, banks, auto-tournies etc. etc. are all available on the runUO forums. You can even get "out-of-the-box" race systems, PvP scoring systems etc. You barely have to be able to code c# at all.

Most the major customisations don't take that long either if you want core.SL = false, insurance = false etc.

Getting the system to resemble Sphere would take a long time, but I think you'd be better off going with a no-insurance no-artefact AoS or pre-AoS system, you can always disable all the skills and take off the skill cap like they did in sphere .51a if you like, not that I would recommend it.

Anyway I am rambling, my point is that you can do it yourselves if you want, and not one person is doing it and I can tell you why; it's a lot of work and it devastates your free time, social life and bank account. You know it's true or you'd be doing it yourself. So maybe you should appreciate everything Taran did for IN so far and accept that he wants his life back now.
