I got a shit ton of ideas, but i won't blow up the forums with them.

one would be a Pop up "tips" or something style window, similar to many programs like microsoft word or something.
when you log in, you have a window with a random tip.
with a next button, or a do not display again.

random Tips for things like.. Search for Jill in merc camp to train any skill. or a tip of where to get the spell book or check the loser on brit bank to how to get to merc camp. Or where to get armor, or how to train this how to train that skill in merc camp.
Mainly to make it easy for new players.

How many times you see someone asking a simple question.
People are lazy, they arn't gonna browse the webpage or forums, they wanna log in and play.
Make the game for user Friendly in a sense.

Might help attract someone enough to keep them interest long enough in the server to keep playing.

Maybe even Add a few tips for advanced players, oh there might be a quest here n there, or this dungeon or spot or area might have a good monster try and find it, subtle tips like that.


Sphere .51a has that tip window auto set up you can enable to disable, not sure abouy runuo, but i never experienced any bugs with it crashing people or anything...

Half the people coming here are probably new... or from another server.. and ever other server iv played, they have in game windows and help andtips and advice and blahblah so forth to help get new people started.
Every server's different and well face it, UO isn't exactly the easiest game to learn and love right off the start...

some new guy could come here try a tour and get waxed....
cause he has no clue about the new .use commands or something simple like that...
well maybe a little Tip window might make it easier for people to learn more about the ways of the server... kinda thing

the .c chat system is awesome, but hate to see it bombarded with simple questions,
even questions about. where can i buy this or that..
check the Vendor section on the webpage for certain items ya know...
so many thins you could do with it to eliminate basic questions..or confusion.

I love this idea actually. We could set up the tips in an external file and have the tip gump read from that. Then we could add/remove tips without having to restart the server.

- The merc camp is located South West in a little caged door house type "portal" on the top floor to enter and start training your skills

- Silver coins are another type of currency you get by trashing items in your reward trash can, there not worth as much as gold but when you have a certain amount of silver you can either purchase gold with it or other cool useful items.

- The casino is outside brit bridge or you can access the back side of the casino west of britan bank

- There is no skill cap on this shard, enjoy.

- There's a 300 stat cap you can have up to 140 stats into one individual stat such as strength examples: 140/60/100, 120/60/120 etc

- No armor does not effect dex or mana here

- You can find macro scripts on the forums in the player guide section, everything you need is there to GM whatever skill you need as fast as you can.

- Yes there are different races here for example goblins.

- You can, although you cannot afk resource gather such as mining/fishing/lumberjacking etc

- Those gumps are their to prevent players from afk resource gathering and ruining the economy.

Looks awesome.

I scrolled through them all or so i think i did, there arn't too many.

Any plans on adding more tips or advice?

I was thinking, maybe adding some like:

Where to get the Recipes for Black widow and those other special weapons, i think one is like a diamonda katana or something...

You could pretty much put anything on the webpage, on a tips window.... since we all know most people are lazy and won't read the webpage..

Maybe a tip on remember to do .vote for 1k gold..

Maybe another random tip for saying to remember to periodically remember to Patch in to get latest files..

Could maybe have a tip window separate or similar, or the same did you know window, for latest in game updates... i know its on the webpage, but eh people are lazy..

A tip on saying Check the vendor tab on webpage for searching for any item that may be for sale... people always ask whos buying an item which could be eliminated if they just search on the webpage vendor section lol.

Could put a HINT reminding players, the TIMES and time zone i guess information for Tour's and Death matches... since most people probably wont find that in the forums or webpage.

Im just ranting and raving, just some ideas nothing major..
I could literally see that Did you know window having literally 100's or pages.. maybe thats impossible or would create lag im not sure.. but theres endless amounts of information you could put in there.

My also Question/Suggestion is...

So far you did my tips window idea.. i create another thread about GM spirit Speak being able to hear any ghost automatically when gmed spirit speak, and you replied in that thread said it would be done on last reboot.
So theres 2 pretty kewl ideas i suggested that were implemented...

How about another idea. where Players or people are REwarded in game? some how? for coming up with a Useful suggestion that others will actually like and will make the server a better place for everyone?

not trying to toot my own horn here, im sure theres other players who have suggested alot of kewl things that actually DID get implemented into the game..

but eh something to think about...
An incentive maybe for something coming up with a kewl workable idea for the server, could rewarded in game with something silly like a Trophy to put on the roof of their house, or maybe even just Gold or something, or a bulk load of resources for a certain skill to macro.. something like that? i dunno?

Im sure after reading this, people will be posting idea's and suggestions a lil more lol

Ah... that why there's Tranith name. Thank you, that's really helpful... and frees us from day-to-day explaining the same things to newbies. I love newbies with all my heart, but tiredom of explanation wrestles with my kindness and love.

yeah, and I think they really should be for Newbies... without Black Widow thing, or other. Let people communicate a bit, I mean, leave a few topics to discuss.
