Lags Wrote:I don't know what you mean by "the hits are just insanity". Melee is luck even if every time the weapon hit it did the same damage because you still have hit/miss. The only way to make melee not luck is to make it so gm sword/tactics never misses and does pretty much the same damage every hit.

Yes you can duel anywhere in the world, good luck killing anyone that doesn't agree to stand still and fight you.

There are ways to fix the hits lol.. we can balance it.

I kill people all the time that run and try and heal.. don't know what you mean.

You kill people in open world 1v1? Ya maybe new players that don't know all they have to do is run and spam heal and the pk will surely run out of mana first.

I agree with Lags. Look , I won't take IN PvP as example as it's still in process of balancement and spells might change it's damage\intakes soon and so on, I'll take XUO/IN-X PvP which is to me is best example of balanced 0.51a. There were some hit bugs (such as double hit) on IN-X, but overall it was balanced. Sure Maka could've make other spells useful instead of some scrolls and maybe spam wasn't best solution but the point still remains - it served it's purpose. Spam was making it so you always had to be prepared to the worst dump opponent can throw on ya. As you wouldn't see(trust me you wouldn't) the start of attack, you'd notice it only when FS already hitted you and another is coming. Stats were set in stone - 100\100\100 everyone, which created ability to calculate the opponents mana. It was the most important thing, to know how much mana your opponent has. FS was dealing 46 damage. Maka also disabled the recall scrolls and we never had invis pots, even on INX. So it was much harder to get away, but these were PvP servers.

Although 1v1 in world never was easy. Even if you overpower opponent a lot , if hes still somewhat fast and knows what to do - he will EASILY get away from ya in 99% of cases... Even on XUO without recall scrolls\invis pots... Lags has a point. Our PvP was always about two-men squads Tongue And I love it as I feel nostalgic about it, but making it possible to gank alone it a good thing...

Don't get me wrong, I don't want to switch on 54b(fizzle) PvP, I'd just like to make it possible to kill a guy alone even if he don't want to fight. I'm sure we could come up with solution that fits 0.51a if we thought about this...

Right on Vys. Totally agree. I don't really want fizzle PvP to replace the servers current PvP either. It's growing on me but needs massive work. I think you should be able to kill someone 1v1 in the wild even if they know how to survive if you outplay them.

I think Taran did a great thing by adding the fizzle arenas and it's a huge step in meeting people in the middle and attempting to keep everyone happy (impossible)

Also in my opinion if you wanted to balance melee and magery you would have to make melee hit basically every time just like magery does, and have the damage range similar to magerys. I mean you don't see FS doing 10 or 70 damage or missing completely. That's why magery is so much more reliable and useful than melee. Having such a large chance to miss even at GM swords/tactics makes melee way less powerful than magery. I mean I'm Gm swords/tactics and I miss 5 times in a row sometimes.

Making fire field and wall scrolls fizzle invis players' recall would help A LOT in PKing random hunters and what not. This would make it possible to fizzle recall through invis by landing a wall/field on their tile. That really only solves the problem with invis pots, though. It's still easy to survive without using invis pot.

That proves you don't know this type of PVP. You are completely incorrect. No disrespect of course.

Could you then please elaborate on what is incorrect about his view?

To fizzle an invis recall make a macro to shoot a explosion pot in your bag. When they invis, run up and shoot a bomb. It will fizzle them and SHOULD reveal them but currently does not.

There are people that agree with me that know this pvp better than you scare crow.

. . . Doubtful.

I know this type of PVP like the back of my hand. I do have 200+ MS though in case you were wondering.

I just disagree completely with changing the entire style of PVP to Fizzle. I came here purposly because Fizzle PVP is terrible and requires no skill whatsoever . . running around object fizzling eachothers spells . . Who wants to do that?! I have played a few of those shards and ripped kids that trash talked. It is BORING. VERY BORING. It's slow-paced and it's the same thing over and over. Requires no math, no quick thinking and is basically for PVPers that do not have the ability to time their spells and like running around walls as if they were ganking. I personally hate it. I'm not shy to admit that.. it's boring in my opinion.

You may hate this type of PVP and that is your opinion as well but I didn't come waltzing into whereever you were playing.. ABC or whatever and try and change it to Xuo PVP.. You are probably Maximus anyways.. same ideas, same manner of expressing yourself and the same points over and over. There are going to be sooooooooooo many posts and new topics about this and it's probably a complete and utter waste of our time. I don't disagree with reverything you are saying because you don't sound like a stupid person at all. I just have very different views than you do when it comes to this game.

For the record as it seems you really don't know who I am as you obviously never played Xuo, Xuo2, Makas Xuo or IN:X so don't think you know how much I know about this PVP because I know a lot more than you think. I even know quite a lot about your "Fizzle PVP" . . . It has nothing to do with who knows what; it's about preferences. We have different preferences. I came on this shard shit talking and trying to change it into Xuo PVP because I was ridiculous at it but, I ended up having to adapt to this similar type... There are currently several open threads all over the Forums that you are posting in about Fizzle PVP and they are all pointless.

This idea sounds kinda interesting but I'm not sure I understand it. Are you saying you cast magic arrow, and target on a potion inside your backpack?

I think he is saying that anytime a hidden player takes damage he should be revealed, and one way to make him take damage would be with an explosion potion. And to blow it up without delay would be with magic arrow, and casting magic arrow on it doesn't work. Does casting magic arrow work if it is outside of your backpack? Or does casting magic arrow not blow it up at all?
