Driving Phoenix -> Seattle. Road trip suggestions?
#1

Hey dudes. I'm moving to Seattle (just got hired at Microsoft!!! Big Grin) today and could use some suggestions for my road trip. Plus I'm bored at work and need a time killer. Help me out.

Where should I stop?
What snacks should I bring?
Any super-neat sight seeing I should do along the path I posted below?

Here is the path that I'm taking: http://g.co/maps/hcxpd
The pins are just to make sure google keeps me along the coast :p

I know there are some big **** trees above San Fran. That's about all I know.

I was gonna suggest either the Grand Canyon or Redwood National Forest. I like Redwood more than the canyon though. Tongue You aren't joking about big-ass trees.

Cool man! I lived in Fremont Seattle about 12 years ago. Its a great city. If you get around to Fremont check out the troll under the bridge! or golden gardens beach... it has a great view on a clear day! Then in the evening bring a lady friend (or just some herb) and go to Gasworks which has one of the best views of the city skyline... Then head downtown and hit up the Hurricane for dinner. Ah what memories! Big Grin

Big Sur/Monterrey area are nice, about 1.5 hrs south of SF. You may be thinking of John Muir woods, north of SF right across the Golden Gate Bridge, some real huge trees there. Alcatraz is also a great tour.
