I feel that this could be something very useful and could really give this shard a HUGE advantage to other shards as it is something that most "Older" games do not have. I would like to know what Taran thinks of something like this. It's more toward the marketing/business standpoint .. could bring in more donations for a faster server.. Just sayin..
i totaly agree with scare. all shards got forums but who has app for phone. this really could be something.
most of us are not childs anymore and we got jobs and familys, for me i can't be that much front of my comp anymore becouse i got two kids and they take most my time, but i still have time to take my iphone and check things. this could bring us new way to get people here.

i was thinking what the app should have. there could be buttons for IN status, ingame chat and maybe even vote button
there could also be guides to UO or some intresting updates/news.

I'm not very fond of an auction system but an app for IN sounds good. When will it be finished Nasir?

Just build an HTML5-based mobile portal. Otherwise, you will have to have a group of individuals dedicated to application development that have all of the appropriate developer's licenses. You could build an Android one for free, but the iOS developer's license is about $100 a year. I have no idea about BB, even though my customer's office uses them exclusively...the DoD has severely limited their capabilities to nothing more than mobile e-mail devices.
Make a web-based "app" that detects mobile devices and go from there. If you need a simple script for that, let me know, I could pass along the one I use for my customer's site.

Apple won't approve that kind of app though. Best way to do this its via HTML-5 as Nasir said.

Second: Give me a spec ;] ...tell me what you want and I can work toward it incrementally.
You've caught me at a really good time. An web app for IN would be great for my code samples / resume since I'm about to relocate to San Francisco within the next couple months. The competition out there is fierce and a lot of the software is on the razors edge so I want to make sure I have some samples using websockets and stuff.
